 ՀՀ արտգործնախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանըհոկտեմբերի 5-ին ընդունել է Եվրոպական Միության Խորհրդի Քաղաքական և անվտանգության հարցերով հանձնաժողովի պատվիրակությանը՝ դեսպան Վալտեր Սթիվենսի գլխավորությամբ: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից՝ հավելելով. «Պատվիրակության կազմում են Եվրամիության անդամ բոլոր պետությունների անվտանգության հարցերով դեսպաններին ներառող ԵՄ Խորհրդի Քաղաքական և անվտանգության հարցերով կոմիտեի անդամները, ԵՄ Խորհրդի, Եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի և Արտաքին գործողությունների եվրոպական ծառայության բարձրաստիճան աշխատակիցներ։

Ողջունելով հյուրերին` նախարար Նալբանդյանը կարևորեց Եվրոպական Միության հետ տարբեր մակարդակներով պարբերական հանդիպումների անցկացումը։

Գոհունակությամբ նշվեց, որ Հայաստանի և ԵՄ միջև ծավալվում է ընդգրկուն փոխգործակցություն փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող մի շարք ոլորտներում: Նախարար Նալբանդյանն արժևորեց ԵՄ կողմից ցուցաբերվող շարունակական աջակցությունը Հայաստանում իրականացվող բարեփոխումներին:

Զրուցակիցները համակարծիք էին, որ Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերության համաձայնագրի ստորագրումը կարող է դառնալ Բրյուսելում կայանալիք ԵՄ Արևելյան գործընկերության գագաթաժողովի կարևոր ձեռքբերումներից մեկը:

Հանդիպմանն արծարծվեցին տարածաշրջանային և միջազգային օրակարգի հրատապ հարցեր, Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը ներկայացրեց ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդրի բացառապես խաղաղ կարգավորման ուղղությամբ Հայաստանի և ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ երկրների ջանքերը, Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի նախագահների առաջիկա հանդիպման նախապատրաստումը:

Այս համատեքստում նախարար Նալբանդյանը նշեց, որ Բաքուն տարիներ շարունակ հրաժարվում է իրականացնել ամենաբարձր մակարդակով ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները, մերժում է համանախագահ երկրների առաջարկությունները ու դրանով խոչընդոտում է ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդրի կարգավորման գործընթացի առաջ մղմանը։ Նախարարի խոսքերով՝ Բաքուն մշտապես մերժում է համանախագահ երկրների առաջարկությունները։ «Եթե Ադրբեջանն իսկապես ցանկանում է գնալ հիմնախնդրի կարգավորմանը միջազգային հանրության աջակցությունը վայելող եռանախագահների առաջարկությունների հիման վրա, ապա պետք է վերահաստատի ու գործնականում իրականացնի այն, ինչ նրանք առաջարկում են՝ հիմնախնդրի բացառապես խաղաղ կարգավորում, 1994-1995թթ. զինադադարի համաձայնագրերը անվերապահ իրականացում։ Բաքուն պետք է ապացուցի իր հավատարմությունը ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ երկրների առաջարկած միջազգային իրավունքի սկզբունքներին՝ ուժի կամ ուժի սպառնալիքի չկիրառմանը, ժողովուրդների իրավահավասարությանն ու ինքնորոշման իրավունքին և տարածքային ամբողջականությանն ու հանգուցալուծման տարրերին, որոնք մշակվել և ներկայացվել են կողմերին որպես մեկ ամբողջականություն»,- շեշտեց Հայաստանի արտգործնախարարը»:
