Վրաստանի կրոնի հարցերով պետական գործակալությունը, Վրաստանի Առաքելական Ուղղափառ Սուրբ Եկեղեցի, Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու Վիրահայոց թեմը, Վրաստանի մշակույթի և հուշարձանների պահպանության նախարարությունը, Վրաստանի հաշտության և քաղաքացիական հավասարության հարցերով պետնախարարի աշխատակազմը համատեղ հայտարարություն են ընդունել Գումբուրդո գյուղում տեղի ունեցած միջադեպի կապակցությամբ:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրել են Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու Վիրահայոց թեմից, հայտարարության մեջ նշված է. «Ախալքալաքի շրջանի Գումբուրդո գյուղում, 10-րդ դարի Սուրբ Աստվածածնի ննջման տաճարի բակում, սույն թվականի սեպտեմբերի 30-ին, տեղի ունեցավ միջադեպ տեղի բնակչության մի մասի և իրավապահների միջև:
Միջադեպն առաջացավ, երբ տաճարի բակում, առանց նախնական համաձայնության, հայկական ավանդական քարե խաչ՝ խաչքար տեղադրելու փորձ արվեց:

Եկեղեցում, 2015 թվականից Վրաստանի Մշակույթի և հուշարձանների պահպանության նախարարությունը կատարում է վերանորոգչական աշխատանքներ: Հնէաբանական պեղումների ժամանակ, այլ բեկորների հետ միասին տաճարի բակում հայտնվեցին մեծ քանակությամբ մարդկային ոսկորներ, որոնք վերաթաղվեցին եկեղեցու բակում, ինչը բնակչության մոտ՝ տեղում խաչքար
կանգնեցնելու ցանկություն առաջացրեց:

Տաճարի հիմնադրման մասին տարածված ապատեղեկատվությունը թյուրիմացություն առաջացրեց ազգաբնակչության շրջանում: Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու Վիրահայոց թեմը հաստատում է, որ տաճարի նկատմամբ որևէ հավակնություն չունի և այն համարվում է վրացական: 

Նախնիների գերեզմանի նկատմամբ հարգանքը անվիճելի է, նկատի ունենալով, որ հարյուրամյակների ընթացքում տաճարի բակում հուղարկավորվել են վրացիներ, հայեր և այլ ազգի ու հավատքի անձինք, մեր պարտքն է հարգել բոլորի հիշատակը: 

Վրաստանի Պատրիարքարանում կայացավ հանդիպում Վրաստանի պետական համապատասխան գերատեսչությունների, Վրաստանի Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցու և Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու ներկայացուցիչերի միջև:

Հանդիպման մասնակիցները հաստատեցին իրենց պատրաստակամությունը՝ ծագած հարցերը քննարկել և որոշումներ ընդունել փոխադարձ համաձայնությամբ, քանի որ խնդիրը, իրավական ու կրոնական հարթությունից բացի, ունի նաև բարոյական մեծ նշանակություն, և ընդունվող որոշումները կլինեն իրավիճակի խաղաղ կարգավորման բարի օրինակ:

Ցանկացած տիպի բռնությունն անընդունելի է և սադրանքը՝ անթույլատրելի: Հորդորում ենք բոլորին՝ պահպանել հազարամյակների ընթացքում ձևավորված վրաց-հայկական բարեկամությունը, ցուցաբերել հեռատեսություն և առաջացած հարցերը լուծել օրինականության և քրիստոնեական սիրո ճանապարհով»:

Ջավախքի հայկական եկեղեցիներից մեկի բակում սեպտեմբերի 30-ին հայ բնակիչները ցանկացել են խաչքար տեղադրել, սակայն ոստիկաններն արգելել են։ Բնակիչների և ոստիկանների միջև լարվածությունն աճել է՝ վերածվելով ծեծկռտուքի:
