Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետություն կատարած պաշտոնական այցի ավարտին ՀՀ վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանն այցելել է Թեհրանի Սուրբ Սարգիս առաջնորդանիստ եկեղեցի: Կառավարության ղեկավարին այստեղ դիմավորել են Թեհրանի թեմի առաջնորդ Գերշ. Տ. Սեպուհ Ս. Արք. Սարգսյանն ու հայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչները: Վերջիններս ողջունել և կարևորել են ՀՀ վարչապետի այցն Իրան և համոզմունք հայտնել, որ այն կնպաստի հայ-իրանական կապերի հետագա զարգացմանն ու ամրապնդմանը:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ կառավարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Կարեն Կարապետյանն ամփոփելով այցի արդյունքները՝ նշել է, որ Իրանի իշխանությունների հետ ունեցել են կառուցողական և արդյունավետ բանակցություններ, որոնք նոր թափ կարող են հաղորդել երկկողմ տնտեսական համագործակցությանն ու առևտրաշրջանառության ծավալների ավելացմանը: Վարչապետը նշել է, որ քննարկել են էներգետիկայի, գյուղատնտեսության, զբոսաշրջության ոլորտներում, ազատ տնտեսական գոտիներին, ինչպես նաև տարածաշրջանային համագործակցությանն առնչվող հարցեր: «Ունեցել ենք բաց երկխոսություն և արդյունավետ բանակցություններ: Համոզված ենք, որ առկա է երկկողմ տնտեսական համագործակցության զարգացման մեծ ներուժ: Իրանն այսօր տարբեր պետություններից ներկրում է բազմաթիվ ապրանքներ, որոնք արտադրվում են Հայաստանում: Կարող ենք երկկողմ փոխշահավետ հարաբերություններին հաղորդել նոր լիցք՝ նաև Մեղրիում ստեղծվելիք ազատ տնտեսական գոտու գործարկմամբ», - ասել է կառավարության ղեկավարը: Անդրադառնալով հայ համայնքի հետ կապերին՝ Կարեն Կարապետյանն ասել է, որ կարևորում է համագործակցությունը և առաջին հերթին վերջիններիս ներգրավվածությունը տարբեր ոլորտներում՝ կառավարման մշակույթի, փորձի փոխանակման և նոր միայն ներդրումային ծրագրերի իրականացման առումով:
