Կատալոնիայի գլխավոր խորհրդի նախագահ Կարլես Պուչդեմոնը նահանգի խորհրդարանում ունեցած ելույթի ժամանակ հայտարարեց, որ Կատալոնիան շարունակելու է շարժվել անկախության հռչակման ուղով: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Պուչդեմոնը շեշտեց, որ այս պահը պատմական է Կատալոնիայի համար:
«Քվեատուփն ասել է «Այո» անկախությանը, և դա է այն կամքը, որով ես առաջ եմ շարժվելու: Ես ցանկանում եմ հետևել Կատալոնիայի ժողովրդի կամքին, իսկ դա անկախ պետություն դառնալն է: Այսօր ես ստանձնում եմ Կատալոնիայի՝ հանրապետական կառավարման ձևով անկախ պետություն դառնալու մանդատը»,- հայտարարեց Պուչդեմոնը:
Նա միաժամանակ ընդգծեց, որ վերջին շրջանում երկխոսության և բանակցությունների կոչեր են հնչել աշխարհի և Եվրոպայի բազմաթիվ առաջնորդների, Նոբելյան մրցանակակիրների և այլ հարգարժան անձանց կողմից, և այդ կոչերը պետք է հարգվեն:
«Մենք առկախում ենք անկախության հռչակումը մի քանի շաբաթով, քանի որ ցանկանում ենք խելամիտ երկխոսություն և միջնորդություն ունենալ Իսպանիայի պետության հետ»,- ընդգծել է Պուչդեմոնը:
2017թ-ին հոկտեմբերի 1-ին Կատալոնիայում անցկացված հանրաքվեի արդյունքներով քվեարկությանը մասնակցածների շուրջ 43 տոկոսը կողմ է արտահայտվել Իսպանիայից անկախությանը: Մադրիդը չի ճանաչել հանրաքվեի փաստն ու արդյունքները:
