Երևանի քաղաքապետարանը ՄԱԿ-ի Զարգացման ծրագրի, Գլոբալ էկոլոգիական ֆոնդի ինչպես նաև ՀՀ բնապահպանության նախարարության հետ համատեղ հոկտեմբերի 23-27-ը կանցկացնի «Երևանի կանաչ լուսավորության շաբաթ» միջոցառումների շարքը: Ծրագրի նպատակն է` բարձրացնել հանրության իրազեկվածությունն էներգախնայող և բնությանը քիչ վնաս հասցնող լուսավորության լուծումների վերաբերյալ:

Տեղեկատվական արշավի մեկնարկին մասնակցել են ՀՀ բնապահպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալ Էրիկ Գրիգորյանը, ՄԱԶԾ մշտական ներկայացուցչի տեղակալ Դմիտրի Մարիասինը, և Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի «Երքաղլույս» ՓԲԸ-ի տնօրեն Վարդան Գաբրիելյանը։
«Երևանի կանաչ լուսավորության շաբաթ»-ի ընթաքում մայրաքաղաքում կազմակերպվելու են մի շարք տարբեր միջոցառումներ, որոնց հնարավորություն կունենան մասնակցելու նաև քաղաքացիները: Մասնավորապես Երևանի տարածքում տեղակայաված հատուկ տաղավարներում քաղաքացիները կարող են փոխանակել իրենց տան ավանդական շիկացման մեկ լամպ LED լամպով: Մասնակիցներին խրախուսելու համար կազմակերպիչներն անվճար LED լամպից բացի պատրաստել են փոքրիկ անակնկալ-նվերներ: Տաղավարների, ինչպես նաև լուսավորության շաբաթի ընթացքում նախատեսված այլ միջոցառումներով ևս հնարավորին մանրամասն տեղեկացվել է լուսադիոդային լուսավորության մասին: Հատկանշվել է, որ այն մեծ նշանակություն ունի Երևանի որոշ կարևորագույն հանրային տարածքներում: 
«Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի՝ շուրջ 4 տարի առաջ ՄԱԶԾ-ի հետ նախաձեռնած աշխատանքների արդյունքներն արդեն այսօր բավական մասշտաբային են. 1300 էներգախնայող LED լուսատուներով են լուսավորված «Զվարթնոց» օդանավակայան տանող ճանապարհը, Մաշտոցի և Արշակունյաց պողոտաները, Ծիծեռակաբերդի և Աթենքի փողոցները։ Ծրագրի շնորհիվ ունենք ավելի քան 60 տոկոս էներգախնայողություն, ինչը մեզ հնարավորություն է տալիս շարունակելու և տարեցտարի ընդլայնելու ծրագիրը»,- նշել է «Երքաղլույս» ՓԲԸ-ի տնօրեն Վարդան Գաբրիելյանը՝ հավելելով, որ իրականացված փոփոխության շնորհիվ տարեկան ավելի քան 500 տոննայով նվազել է ջերմոցային գազերի արտանետումը: 
Բնապահպանությունը լուսադիոդային լուսավորության միակ առավելությունը չէ. LED-ը ծախսում է 8 անգամ քիչ էլեկտրաէներգիա: Լուսադիոդային լուսավորության առավելությունները հնարավոր է օգտագործել նաև առօրյայում՝ փոխարինելով տան սովորական շիկացման լամպերը LED տարբերակով, որոնք մինչև 50 անգամ ավելի երկար են գործածվում և 8 անգամ ավելի քիչ էներգիա են օգտագործում: 
«Երևանի կանաչ լուսավորության շաբաթ»-ի շրջանակում բացված տաղավարներն աշխատելու են երկուշաբթվանից ուրբաթ՝ ժ․ 12:00–20:00: Հոկտեմբերի 23, 24 և 25-ին դրանք տեղակայված կլինեն Հյուսիսային պողոտայում, «Երիտասարդական» մետրոյի հարևանությամբ, հոկտեմբերի 26-ին և 27-ին` Գարեգին Նժդեհի հրապարակում և Նոր Նորքի 2-րդ զանգվածում:
