Ազգ-բանակ կոնցեպտը, որ ներկայացվում է որպես Հայաստանի առաջիկա տարիների քաղաքական ռազմավարություն, ոչ այլ ինչ է քան իրավիճակային հերթական որոշումը: Որոշում, որի հիմքում ընկած է ղարաբաղյան կոնֆլիկտում առկա ստատուս-քվոյի անորոշության դեմ մարտչնելու կենսունակության բացակայությունն ու այդ բացակայությունն ինչ-որ կերպ կոծկելու նպատակը:

Ստատուս-քվոն ենթադրում է նաև պերմանենտ, սողացող ու հյուծիչ պատերազմ: Ինչն էլ ենթադրում է իր հերթին բանակի համալրում, հասարակության միլիտարիզացիա: Ընդ որում միլիտարիզացիա ոչ թե ռազմական, այլ հհոգեբանական իմաստով: Կոնֆլիկտի կարգավորման մասով որևէ բան առաջարկելու անկարողությունը կոծկել հասարակության ռազմատենչ հոգեբանությամբ: 

Ազգ-բանակն, ըստ այդմ կենսունակ է այնքան, որքան կա ղարաբաղյան ստատուս-քվոն: Ավելին՝ այն դառնում է այդ ստատուս-քոյի ամրապնդման գործիք և փաստում, որ հայաստանյան իշխանություններն առանձնապես ստատուս-քվոյից դուրս գալու միտում չունեն: Չկա որևէ դիվանագիտակամ կամ քաղաքական երկարաժամկետ նախագիծ, փոխարենը կա եղած վիճակին հարմարվելու ձգտում:

Այս առումով, ազգ-բանակը մարտավարական իմաստով գուցե և ադեկվատ պատասխան է ադրբեջանական կողմի դիրքորոշմանը, ինչպես նաև ղարաբաղյան խնդրում առկա լճացմանը: Բայց ռազմավարական առումով այն լճացման վերահաստատումն է ու անկարողության արձանագրումը, անկարողություն, որ Հայաստանը չունի որևէ պլան քաղաքական և տնտեսական բլոկադայից դուրս գալու համար:
