Իրավապաշտպան, հրապարակախոս, ԽՍՀՄ տարիների քաղբանտարկյալ Վարդան Հարությունյանը բազմակետերի իր պատասխանն ունի
«Նորանկախ այս պետությունն ընդհանրապես չի էլ փորձում արժևորել խորհրդային անցյալը: Չի արժևորում նաև Հայաստանի կայացման համար մղված պայքարը, խորհրդային տարիների քաղբանտարկյալների գործն ու ընդհանրապես այլախոհությունը ԽՍՀՄ–ում: Այս իշխանություններին չի հետաքրքրում, չի հետաքրքրել և չի էլ հետաքրքրի նշվածը, որովհետև որպես կանոն իրենց հետաքրքրում են հենց իրենք: Նույնիսկ սեփական շրջապատն իրենց չի հետաքրքրում: Նրանք իրենց բարեկեցությամբ և իրենց իշխանության բարօրությամբ են զբաղված: Այս պարագայում ակնկալելը, թե կարող էին պատմությունն ուսումնասիրել, գնահատել կամ վերաարժևորել, միամիտ կլիներ»–«Փաստ»–ի հետ զրույցում ասաց Վարդան Հարությունյանը:
Իրավապաշտպանի դիտարկմամբ` խորհրդային անցյալի էջը դեռ պետք է ուսումնասիրվի:
«Ես տարբեր առիթներով ասել եմ, որ մեր քաղաքացին շատ լավ գիտի թե՛ միջնադարյան և թե՛ հին աշխարհի պատմությունը: Բայց մարդիկ շատ վատ գիտեն խորհրդային ժամանակների պատմությունը: Այդ պատմությունը դեռ պետք է ուսումնասիրվի, վերաարժևորվի: Այդ ժամանակների հերոսներն ու հակահերոսները դեռ պետք է վերագնահատվեն` ամեն ինչ առջևում է: Ուղղակի այսօր ժամանակը չէ: Կամ էլ պարզապես երկրում ստեղծվել է մի իրավիճակ, որը հնարավորություն չի տալիս զբաղվելու այդ հետաքրքիր գործով»,–նկատեց Վարդան Հարությունյանը:
Վերջինս ընդգծեց` մի կարևոր հանգամանք էլ կա:
«Ամենագլխավոր հանգամանքն այն է, որ խորհրդային իրականությունը անցել է պատմության գիրկը, չկա Խորհրդային Միությունը, բայց խորհրդային մտածողությունն ու մտածելակերպը շարունակում է սողոսկել մեր իրականություն և շարունակում է ապրել այդ իրականության մեջ: Այսօրվա իշխանավարման մեթոդները, քաղաքական դաշտում առկա փոխհարաբերությունները շատ են հիշեցնում խորհրդային շրջանն ու այդ շրջանի հարաբերություններն ու մտածողությունը: Մենք դեռ չենք կարողացել ազատվել խորհրդային բեռից: 21–րդ դարի այս օրերում մենք մեր ուսերին կրում ենք այդ բեռը: Այդ հանգամանքն այն կարևոր պատճառներից մեկն է, որ չենք կարողանում մեծ քայլեր անել դեպի ապագա»,– եզրափակեց Վարդան Հարությունյանը:
