Հայաստանի և Սիրիայի միջև առևտրատնտեսական համագործակցության հեռանկարները քննարկելու նպատակով հոկտեմբերի 29-ից 31-ը ՀՀ տնտեսական զարգացման և ներդրումների նախարար Սուրեն Կարայանի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը եղել է Սիրիայի Արաբական Հանրապետությունում: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ տնտեսական զարգացման և ներդրումների նախարարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի բաժնից:

Պատվիրակության կազմում էին. հատուկ հանձնարարություններով դեսպան Լևոն Սարգսյանը, Դեր Էզ-Զորում ՀՀ պատվավոր հյուպատոս Սուրեն Վարդանյանը, ՀՀ առևտրաարդյունաբերական պալատի նախագահ Մարտին Սարգսյանը, Զբոսաշրջության պետական կոմիտեի նախագահ Զարմինե Զեյթունցյանը,  Հայաստանի զբոսաշրջության զարգացման հիմնադրամի գործադիր տնօրեն Արայիկ Խզմալյանը, ինչպես նաև ՀՀ առևտրաարդյունաբերական պալատի անդամներ:

Հոկտեմբերի 29-ին պատվիրակությանն ընդունել է Սիրիայի Արաբական Հանրապետության նախարարների խորհրդի նախագահ Իմադ Խամիսը: Ողջունելով հյուրերին՝ Իմադ Խամիսը նշել է, որ պատերազմի հետևանքով երկար դադարից հետո հայկական պատվիրակության այցը Սիրիա մեծ իրադարձություն է երկու երկրների առևտրատնտեսական հարաբերությունների համատեքստում: Վարչապետն ընդգծել է, որ Սիրիան երախտապարտ է սիրիական ճգնաժամի հարցում բարեկամ Հայաստանի հավասարակշռված դիրքորոշումների համար: Այնուհետև Իմադ Խամիսը համառոտ ներկայացրել է պատերազմող Սիրիայի քայքայված տնտեսության վերականգնմանն ուղղված կառավարության ռազմավարությունը, ինչպես նաև տնտեսական նոր ծրագրերը:  

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ջերմ ընդունելության համար՝ նախարար  Կարայանը վստահություն է հայտնել, որ իր այցը նոր լիցք կհաղորդի ճգնաժամի պատճառով որոշակի հետնահանջ ապրած հայ-սիրիական երրկողմ համագործակցությանը՝ հիմք հանդիսանալով հետագա համատեղ արդյունավետ աշխատանքների նախագծման և իրականացման համար: Տնտեսական զարգացման և ներդրումների նախարարը նշել է, որ Հայաստանի փորձառությունն ու ներուժը կարող են օգտակար լինել սիրիական կողմին՝ ավերածության ենթարկված տնտեսության տարբեր բնագավառների վերականգնման հարցերում, և որ Հայաստանը պատրաստ է տրամադրել նման աջակցություն բարեկամ Սիրիային: Նա հավելել է, որ Հայաստանը կարող է կամուրջ հանդիսանալ սիրիական արտադրանքը միջազգային շուկաներում ներկայացնելու համար:

Նախարար Կարայանը վստահեցրել է նաև, որ, անհրաժեշտության դեպքում, Հայաստանը կարող է սիրիական կողմին տրամադրել բարձրորակ մասնագետներ՝ նախագծման, շինարարության, ճանապարհաշինության, գյուղատնտեսության և բարձր տեխնոլոգիաների ոլորտներում:

Վարչապետ Խամիսը ողջունել է հայկական կողմի պատրաստակամությունը մասնակցելու Սիրիայի վերականգնման ծրագրերին և ընգծել, որ Սիրիան մեծապես հետաքրքրված է տեսնել հայկական ապրանքներն իր շուկայում՝ միաժամանակ վստահեցնելով, որ հայ արտադրողները կօգտվեն լայն արտոնություններից:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել է հայ-սիրիական միջկառավարական հանձնաժողովի աշխատանքների վերսկսման հնարավորությունը:
