ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը հայտնել Է, որ համակողմանի աջակցություն կցուցաբերի Նյու Յորքի ոստիկանությանը հոկտեմբերի 31-ին տեղի ունեցած ահաբեկչության հետաքննության գործում: ԱՄՆ-ի ղեկավարը Սպիտակ տան կողմից տարածված հայտարարության մեջ ցավակցություն Է հայտնել: Նա տեղի ունեցած որակել Է «վախկոտ գրոհ» եւ խոստացել Է՝ «շարունակել ուշադիր հետեւել իրադարձությունների զարգացմանը»:

ԱՄՆ-ի ներքին անվտանգության նախարարությունը տեղի ունեցածը գնահատել Է «բացահայտ ահաբեկչական գործողություն»:

Նյու Յորքի քաղաքագլուխ Բիլլ դե Բլազիոն, ելույթ ունենալով մամուլի ասուլիսում, պատահածը որակել Է «ահաբեկչության վախկոտ գործողություն՝ ուղղված անմեղ մարդկանց դեմ, որոնք չԷին կասկածում՝ ինչ Է իրենց սպառնում»: ԶԼՄ-ների տվյալներով՝ կատարված հարձակումը զոհերի թվով ամենախոշոր ահաբեկչական գործողությունն Է դարձել Նյու Յորքում Առեւտրի համաշխարհային կենտրոնի զույգ աշտարակների վրա գրոհների ժամանակներից ի վեր, որոնք տեղի են ունեցել 16 տարի առաջ, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը: 

Նյու Յորքում հոկտեմբերի 31-ին չարագործի կողմից ավտոմեքենայով կատարված վրաերթի զոհ Է դարձել ութ մարդ, առնվազն 12 հոգի վերքեր են ստացել: Իշխանությունները նշում են, որ տղամարդը գործել Է կանխամտածված, եւ տեղի ունեցածը որակել են ահաբեկչական գործողություն:

Իրավապահ մարմինների տվյալներով՝ գրոհն իրականացրել Է մի անձ: ԶԼՄ-ները նշել են նրա անունը՝ Սայֆուլլո Սաիպով: Նա ուզբեկ Է եւ ապրում Է Ֆլորիդայի նահանգում: Իշխանությունները կասկածյալի ինքնությունը պաշտոնապես չեն բացահայտում: Միջադեպը տեղի Է ունեցել ժամը մոտավորապես 15:05-ին (Երեւանի ժամանակով ժամը 23:05-ին) Չեմբերս-սթրիթ եւ Ուեսթ-սթրիթ փողոցների հատման վայրում՝ Մանհեթենի հարավարեւմտյան մասում: Այդ վայրը մոտ Է 2001 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 11-ի ահաբեկչության զոհերի հուշահամալիրին:

Ոստիկանության տվյալների համաձայն՝ ահաբեկիչը բեռնատար-պիկապով, որը վարձակալել Էր շինարարական նյութերի առեւտրով զբաղվող Home Depot ցանցում, մեծ արագությամբ մի քանի թաղամաս Է անցել հեծանվորդների համար առանձնացված գոտիով, որը ավտոճանապարհից բաժանված Է արգելապատնեշով, եւ վրաերթի ենթարկել բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր հանդիպել են իր ճանապարհին: Չարագործը բախվել Է դպրոցական ավտոբուսին, ինչից հետո մեքենան կանգ Է առել: Երբ տղամարդը զենքը ձեռքին դուրս Է եկել վարորդական խցիկից, ոստիկանությունը կրակ Է բացել նրա վրա՝ վիրավորելով որովայնի շրջանում: Նրան տեղափոխել են հիվանդանոց:

CNN հեռուստաընկերության տվյալներով՝ հանցագործը, դուրս գալով ավտոմեքենայից, գոռում Էր «Ալլահ աքբար»: Ավելի ուշ հայտնի Է դարձել, որ հարձակվողի մոտ եղել Է գրություն, որում նա նշել Է, թե գործել Է հանուն «Իսլամական պետություն» խմբավորման:

Պատահարի հետեւանքով զոհվել են Արգենտինայի հինգ քաղաքացիներ եւ մեկ բելգիացի:

Պատահարից շատ չանցած ամերիկյան մի շարք լրատվամիջոցներ՝ հղում անելով իրավապահ մարմինների աղբյուրների, հայտնել են, որ ահաբեկչությունը կատարել Է Ուզբեկստանից սերված 29-ամյա Սայֆուլլո Խաբիբուլայի Սաիպովը: CNN-ի տվյալներով՝ նա ԱՄՆ Է ժամանել 2010 թվականին եւ ապրում Էր Ֆլորիդայի նահանգի Թամպա քաղաքում: Միեւնույն ժամանակ, Fox News-ի տվյալներով՝ ահաբեկիչը վերջին ժամանակներս հաստատվել Էր Նյու Ջերսիի նահանգում: Իշխանությունները պաշտոնապես հաստատել են միայն հանցագործի տարիքը, նրա ինքնությունը չեն բացահայտում՝ ելնելով հետաքննության շահերից:
