ԱՄՆ Ինդիանա նահանգը ճանաչել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը

ԱՄՆ-ի Ինդիանա նահանգի նահանգապետ Էրիկ Ջ. Հոլկոմբը հանդես է եկել հռչակագրով՝ դատապարտելով 1915 թվականին Օսմանյան կայսրության կողմից հայերի, ասորիների, հույների ոչնչացումը: Այսպիսով` Ինդիանան դարձել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանացած 48-րդ նահանգը: Այս մասին ասված է Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի գրասենյակի կայքում:
Դրանից բացի, Հոլկոմբը 2017 թվականի նոյեմբերի 6-12-ը՝ «Հայաստանի շաբաթ» է հայտարարել` Ինդիանայի բնակիչներին հրավիրելով «պատշաճ կերպով նշելու այս առիթը»:
«Մենք ողջունում ենք նահանգապետ Հոլկոմբի այս հռչակագիրը, որն Ինդիանան դարձնում է մարդկության դեմ միջազգային հանցագործությունը պաշտոնապես հաստատող 48-րդ նահանգը: Այս հռչակագիրը ծառայում է որպես հիշեցում ոչ միայն Ինդիանայի բնակիչների, այլ նաև Թուրքիայի ժխտողական կառավարության համար, որն ավելի քան մեկ դար փորձում է որպես պատանդ պահել ճշմարտությունը: Նման քաղաքականությունը դատապարտված է ձախողման, քանի որ այսօր մենք ավելի ուժեղ ենք Թուրքիայի բարեխիղճ մարդկանց, ինչպես նաև՝ մեր կոալիցիոն գործընկերների հետ, որոնք իրականություն են դարձրել այս և նմանատիպ այլ հռչակագրեր», - իրադարձությունը մեկնաբանել է Հայ Դատի գրասենյակի կապի գծով տնօրեն Արթուր Մարտիրոսյանը:
