Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը նոյեմբերի 18-ին ընդունել է Ա.Ն. Բակուլևի անվան սրտանոթային վիրաբուժության ազգային բժշկական հետազոտական կենտրոնի ղեկավար, հայտնի սրտաբան, վիրաբույժ, պրոֆեսոր, ակադեմիկոս Լեո Բոկերիային, ով Երևանի Մխիթար Հերացու անվան պետական բժշկական համալսարանի հրավերով եռօրյա այցով ժամանել է Հայաստան՝ բժշկական կենտրոնների հետ համագործակցություն զարգացնելու, ինչպես նաև փորձի փոխանակում իրականացնելու նպատակով:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ողջունելով աշխարհահռչակ բժշկին մեր երկրում՝ Հանրապետության Նախագահը բարձր է գնահատել նրա ներդրումը սրտային վիրաբուժության զարգացման գործում, ընդգծելով, որ պրոֆեսոր Բոկերիայի ներդրած նոր, ժամանակակից մեթոդների շնորհիվ աշխարհում փրկվել են հազարավոր մարդկանց կյանքեր, շատերն էլ դեռ հույսով սպասում են իրենց առողջացմանը:
Նախագահը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել անվանի բժշկին նաև իր անգնահատելի փորձով ուրիշների հետ կիսվելու պատրաստակամության համար՝ համարելով դա աստվածահաճո գործ: Սերժ Սարգսյանն ընդգծել է, որ Հայաստանը մեծ նշանակություն է տալիս առողջապահության ոլորտի զարգացմանը, բժշկության մեջ առաջավոր փորձի ներդրմանը: Նախագահն այդ տեսանկյունից կարևորել է աշխարհի առաջատար մասնագետների հետ կապերի հաստատումն ու համագործակցությունը և հույս հայտնել, որ Լեո Բոկերիայի այցը Հայաստան, շփումները հայ մասնագետների հետ, պրակտիկ գիտելիքների ու փորձի փոխանակումը մեծ աջակցություն կլինի Հայաստանում այդ ոլորտի զարգացման համար:
Բժիշկ Բոկերիան շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ջերմ ընդունելության, գնահատանքի համար և վստահեցրել, որ ջանք չի խնայի Հայաստանում սրտանոթային վիրաբուժության զարգացման գործում իր ներդրումն ունենալու համար: Անվանի սրտաբան, վիրաբույժը Հանրապետության Նախագահի հետ հանդիպմանը ներկայացրել է աշխարհում այս ոլորտի զարգացման միտումներն ու ժամանակակից տեխնոլոգիաների կիրառմամբ ավելի լավ արդյունքների հասնելու հնարավորությունները: Պրոֆեսոր Բոկերիան նշել է, թե տպավորված է Հայաստանում իր այցելած բժշկական կենտրոններով և այնտեղ իրենց մասնագիտական առաքելությունն իրականացնող բարձր որակավորում ունեցող մասնագետներով, որոնց հետ հաճույքով կհամագործակցի:
