Խորհրդարանը 1 րոպե լռությամբ հարգեց ամերիկահայ գործարար, Հայաստանի ազգային հերոս Քըրք Քըրքորյանի հիշատակը: Ազգային ժողովի նիստի մեկնարկին ԱԺ նախագահ Գալուստ Սահակյանը հիշեցրեց, որ 98 տարեկանում կյանքից հեռացել է մեծ բարերար Քըրք Քըրքորյանը: «Պարոն Քըրքորյանի ավանդը Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում անգնահատելի է: Կորուստը մեծ է բոլորիս համար: Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Ազգային ժողո վի անունից հայտնում եմ ցավակցություն մեծ բարերարի հարազատներին և աշխարհի հայերին: Խնդրում եմ մեկ րոպե լռությամբ և հոտնկայս հարգել մեծ բարերար, Հայաստանի ազգային հերոս Քըրք Քըրքորյանի հիշատակը»,-նշեց Սահակյանը:
Իննսունութ տարեկանում մահացել է ամերիկահայ գործարար, միլիարդատեր, բարերար Քըրք Քըրքորյանը: Բարերարի մահվան բոթը հաստատել է Քըրքորյանի «Տրասինդա Քորփորեյշնի» նախագահ և գործադիր տնօրեն Էնթոնի Մանդեկիքը: Քըրքորյանը մահացել է երկուշաբթի երեկոյան՝ Բեվերլի Հիլլզի իր տանը:
Քըրք Քըրքորյանը ծնվել է 1917թ. հունիսի 6-ին Ֆրեզնո քաղաքում: Զբաղվել է հյուրանոցային շինարարությամբ, կինո և ավտոմոբիլային արտադրությամբ: Սպիտակի երկրաշարժից հետո և ՀՀ շրջափակման ու տնտեսական ճգնաժամի տարիներին «Հայաստան» համահայկական հիմնադրամի տարբեր ծրագրերին նվիրաբերել է ավելի քան 20 մլն դոլար: 1996թ. կրկնապատկել է Լոս Անջելեսի հեռուստամարաթոնի ընթացքում հավաքած գումարը` Գորիս-Ստեփանակերտ ավտոճանապարհի շինարարությանը հատկացնելով մոտ 4 մլն դոլար: 2001-ից նրա «Լինսի» հիմնադրամը 200 մլն դոլարի արժողության ծրագրեր է իրականացրել ՀՀ-ում ավտոճանապարհների վերակառուցման, մշակութային հաստատությունների նորոգման, աղետի գոտու վերականգնման ուղղությամբ: Հայաստանի Ազգային հերոս է: Պարգևատրվել է «Հայրենիք» շքանշանով:
