Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի և իտալական «Տերենա Սքավի» ընկերության միջև ստորագրվել է Բաբաջանյան-Աշտարակ նոր ճանապարհահատվածի շինարարական աշխատանքների պայմանագիրը, որն իրականացվելու է Երևանի արևմտյան շրջանցիկ ճանապարհի կառուցման ծրագրի շրջանակում:

Պայամանագիրը ստորագրել են Երևանի քաղաքապետ Տարոնը Մարգարյանը և միջազգային մրցույթում հաղթող ճանաչված «Տերենա Սքավի» ընկերության լիազոր ներկայացուցիչ Ջակոմո Լոմբարդին:
Առանձնակի կարևորելով նոր ճանապարհի կառուցումը` քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանն ընդգծել է, որ այն կարևոր դերակատարում կունենա մայրաքաղաքի կենտրոնի բեռնաթափման հարցում:
«Տերենա Սքավի» ընկերության լիազոր ներկայացուցիչ Ջակոմո Լոմբարդին էլ իր հերթին վստահեցրել է, որ կարվի ամեն ինչ, որպեսզի աշխատանքներն ավարտվեն սահմանված ժամկետներում և որակն էլ գոհացնի բոլորին:
Հարկ է նշել, որ Բաբաջանյան-Աշտարակ ճանապարհահատվածի շինարարական աշխատանքները կմեկնարկեն 2018թ. սկզբին, աշխատանքների ժամկետը նախատեսված է 24 ամիս: Ճանապարհի ընդհանուր երկարությունը շինարարական աշխատանքներից հետո կկազմի մոտ 9.4 կմ, ճանապարհի միջին լայնությունը՝ 24 մ: Այս հատվածում նախատեսված է կառուցել 3 ուղեանցեր, որոնք կանցնեն Օհանով և Տիչինա փողոցների վրայով, ինչպես նաև կկառուցվի մեկ ուղեանց՝ Չաուշ-Նոր Սիլիկյան փողոցների խաչմերուկում: Ճանապարհի երկայնքով կկառուցվեն 3 անցումներ՝ երկրորդային փողոցների համար, և մեկ տրանսպորտային հանգույց՝ նոր կառուցվող ճանապարհի և Նոր Սիլիկյան փողոցի հատման վայրում: Շինարարական աշխատանքների ավարտին Աջափնյակ վարչական շրջանը նոր ճանապարհով կկապվի Մալաթիա-Սեբաստիա վարչական շրջանին: 
Ճանապարհը կկառուցվի միջազգային չափորոշիչներին համապատասխան: Շինարարական աշխատանքների ընթացքում ճանապարհի ազդեցության գոտուց դուրս կբերվեն բոլոր առկա հաղորդուղիները, իսկ ճանապարհի արտաքին լուսավորությունը կապահովվի լուսադիոդային (LED) լուսատուներով:
