Քաղաքականության մեջ ոչ հաճախ, սակայն ժամանակ առ ժամանակ լսվում են զուտ քաղաքագիտական տերմիններ, որոնք հասարակության մի մասը կամ չի հասկանում, կամ ճիշտ չի ընկալում ներկայացված պնդման բովանդակությունը: Երբեմն շրջանառվում է հասարակության լյուպենացում կամ լյուպենիզացիա եզրույթը:
Որպես հասարակության լյումպենացման հոմանիշ կարելի է օգտագործել նաև ունեզրկում, աղքատացում ձևակերպումները:
Լյումպեն-պրոլետարիատ գերմաներենից թարգմանաբար նշանակում է ցնցոտիավոր: Այս տերմինը շրջանառության մեջ է դրել Կարլ Մարքսը, որպեսզի բնորոշի պրոլետարիատի ցածր խավին: Ավելի ուշ «լյումպեններ» սկսեցին կոչվել բնակչության բոլոր ապադասակարգայնացված շերտերի թափառաշրջիկները, չքավորները, քրեական, սոցիալապես չկայացած տարրերը: Քաղաքական առումով լյումպենը սեփականազուրկն է, որն ապրում է պատահական, ոչ մշտական եկամտի հաշվին, պետության կողմից հատկացված նպաստերի և վճարների հաշվին:
Լյումպենիզացիան, որպես կանոն, բնորոշ է ծայրահեղ ճգնաժամային հասարկություններին, որին ի վերջո հաջորդում է հասարակական կյանքից բնակչության ուղղակի օտարումը` միաժամանակ նպաստելով հասարակական անդունդի ձևավորմանը: Ըստ քաղաքագետ-տեսաբանների` լյումպենացմանն առաջին հերթին նպաստում է վարվող պետական քաղաքականությունը:
