Սմբատ Ավագյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում  գրում է.

Վերջին օրերին մամուլը հեղեղված է ՀՀԿ-ի կողմից ՀՀ նախագահի թեկնածու առաջադրվող Արմեն Սարգսյանի մասին նյութերով։ Դա ինքնին հասկանալի է, քանի որ խոսքը գնում է առաջիկա յոթ տարում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության նախագահի մասին, չնայած, զուտ ֆորմալ առումով Արմեն Սարգսյանը դեռ իր համաձայնությունը չի հանձնել առաջադրվելու համար։ 
Սակայն որքան էլ զարմանալի լինի, լրատվամիջոցների ուշադրությունը սևեռված է ոչ այնքան Արմեն Սարգսյանի անձի, գործունեության վրա (չնայած այդ մասին եղել են որոշ հրապարակումներ), ոչ այնքան այն հանգամանքի վրա, թե նա ինչ կարող է անել Հայաստանի Հանրապետության համար որպես նախագահ, այլ այն գուշակությունների կամ քննարկումների վրա, թե քանի փուլով կընտվի ՀՀԿ-ի թեկնածուն։ 
Արդեն օրեր շարունակ բազմաթիվ լրատվամիջոցներ հարցեր են ուղղում տարբեր քաղաքական ուժերի ներկայացուցիչներին, պարզելու, թե ինչպես է անցնելու ԱԺ քվեարկությունը ՀՀ 4-րդ նախագահի ընտրության ժամանակ։ Մինչ բոլորին հուզում է այն հարցը, թե ինչ որոշում կկայացնի «Ծառուկյան» դաշինքը, չկա գեթ մեկ լրատվամիջոց, որը հրապարակավ հարց դնի․ իսկ ի՞նչ կարևոր է, թե քանի փուլով կընտրվի ՀՀ 4-րդ նախագահը, ու միթե մեկ կամ երկու փուլն է, որ որոշում է քաղաքական իրավիճակ Հայաստանում։ Ի՞նչ է փոխվելու Հայաստանում, եթե Արմեն Սարգսյանը ընտրվի ոչ թե մեկ, այլ երկու փուլով։ Ի՞նչն է խանգարելու նրա հետագա գործունեությանը նման ելքի դեպքում։ Իհարկե ոչինչը և փուլերի քանակը այստեղ որևէ էական դեր չի կարող ունենալ։ Բայց այս հարցերը մեր քաղաքական և լրատվական դաշտին կարծես չեն հետաքրքրում։ 
Փոխարենը հենց վերոնշյալն է, որ լրատվամիջոցներին և քաղաքական դաշտին դրել է անհարկի ցայտնոտային իրավիճակի մեջ, որոնք, փոխանակ վերլուծելու իրավիճակը և հասկանալու, որ մեկ կամ երկու փուլերով ընտրությունը ոչ մի էական բան չի փոխելու Հայաստանում, չգիտես ինչու, սևեռվել են «Ծառուկյան» դաշինքի վրա, այն դեպքում, երբ դեռ չկա թեկնածուի ֆորմալ համաձայնությունը, դեռ չեն մեկնարկել Արմեն Սարգսյանի հանդիպումները խոհրդարանական մյուս ուժերի հետ, երբ «Ծառուկյան» դաշինքը ինքը դեռ այդ հարցով որևէ քննարկում չի անցկացրել։ 
Սա, ցավոք, բնութագրում է մեր քաղաքական և լրատվական դաշտի ներկայիս որակը․ թողած կարևոր հարցերը՝ ընկնել երկրորդական հարցերի հետևից և դրանք դարձնել օրվա գլխավոր թեմա, ինտրիգներ ստեղծել կամ փնտրել այնտեղ, որտեղ դրանք չկան, ենթադրությունների կամ գուշակությունների հիման վրա հեռուն գնացող եզրակացություններ անել, երբ դրա համար որևէ քաղաքական հիմք չկա։
Արմեն Սարգսյանի՝ մեկ կամ երկու փուլով ընտրվելու հանգամանքը որևէ էական նշանակություն չունի Հայատսանի Հանրապետության համար, որը թևակոխում է նոր՝ խորհրդարանական կառավարման փուլ։ Արմեն Սարգսյանի հնարավոր ընտրության փուլերի քանակը այսօր արհեստականորեն մտցվել է օրակարգ լրատվամիջոցների կողմից և դարձել Հայաստանի գլխավոր թեման, այն դեպքում, երբ այսօր ամենահրատապ հարցերը բոլորովին այլ տեղերում են՝ գնաճ, աղքատություն, արտագաղթ, պետական ահռելի պարտք և այլն։ Իրականում հենց քննարկվող թեմաներն են իրավիճակ ստեղծում Հայաստանում, և քանի դեռ մեր ուշադրությունը արհեստականորեն սևեռում են ոչ այնքան կարևոր հարցերի վրա, իրական լուրջ խնդիրները մնալու են չլուծված։
