RIP. Jackie Chan Dead At Age 63
LIFEJackie Chan dead at age 63 is a celebrity death hoax. There is no truth to a meme being shared on social media that the legendary actor had died. Rather, the meme is quite confusing at it reads Chan “peacefully passed by a store in Koreatown, New York City, today at age 63.” Rather, if Chan were actually dead it should read “passed away” and not “passed by.”
Where did this celebrity death hoax originate? Social media users came across in December 2017, a mem with an image of Chan along with the line that read Chan “peacefully passed by a store in Koreatown, New York City, today at age 63.” However, there is no truth that Chan has died. Of course, there is no legitimate news coverage of any death reports concerning Chan.
Chan and Lang Lang were recently on hand for the official unveiling of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic logos. Chan gave a rousing performance of “Wake Up Winter” alongside snowflake-twirling, sequined dancers. It also took gold for the most convincing live act, what with everyone else lip-synching their way through and a further reminder that when it comes to conveying an assertive appearance.
This is not the first time that Chan has been associated with a death hoax. Chan was falsely alleged to have been killed in an accident while filming a movie. The site mediafetcher.com includes various templates that allow users to generate phony news stories about celebrities coming to harm in various forms of accident simply by plugging their names into the URLs used to access those templates.
Chan was born Chan Kong-sang on April 7, 1954, in Hong Kong, China. He began studying martial arts, drama, acrobatics and singing at age 7. Once considered a likely successor to Bruce Lee in Hong Kong cinema, Chan instead developed his own style of martial arts blended with screwball physical comedy. He became a huge star throughout Asia and went on to have hits in the U.S. as well.
