«Հայկական ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է. «Քրեական հեղինակություն համարվող Ալավերդցի Վահագնը, որն իր պաշտպանի բնորոշմամբ՝ բարեգործ է եւ բարերար, տարիներ առաջ «թալանել» է իր բարեկամին: Այս մասին բարձրաձայնվում է այսօր միայն, այն բանից հետո, երբ Աբգարյանը հայտնվել է մեղադրյալի կարգավիճակով՝ ՔԿՀ-ում:

Չնայած նրա անազատության մեջ գտնվելու հանգամանքին, Ալավերդիում այնուամենայնիվ վախի մթնոլորտը դեռ շարունակվում է: Նրանից տուժած բարեկամը վախենում է իր անվտանգության համար, իսկ մեզ ներկայացվող դեպքի մասին պատմած նրա ընկերուհին հասկանալի պատճառներով նույնիսկ չցանկացավ ներկայանալ:

Նա մեզ հետ զրույցում պատմեց, որ տուժած բարեկամը խանութ է աշխատեցնում, եւ 2014 թվականին Վահագն Աբգարյանը վարկ մուծելու պատրվակով բարեկամից 3800 դոլար է խնդրել՝ կես ժամից վերադարձնելու պայմանով: Կես ժամը դարձել է 4 տարի:

«Ալավերդից Վահագը ոչ թե բարերար է, այլ թալանչի ու բարեպիղծ: Նա իր հարազատ բարեկամին է թալանել մի քանի հազար դոլար եւ այդ թալանած գումարով բարերարություն արել»,-բարձրաձայնեց բարեկամի ընկերուհին:

Վերջինս պատմել է նաեւ, որ երբ թալանի ենթարկված անձը դիմել է Ալավերդցի Վահագնի մորը՝ խնդրելով վերադարձնել իր մի քանի հազար դոլարը, քրեական հեղինակության մայրը սպառնացել է ոչնչացնել որդու զոհին, եթե նա բողոք ներկայացնի ոստիկանություն: Ընդ որում, սպառնացել է ազդեցիկ ու հզոր անձանցով:

Ընկերուհու պնդմամբ՝ կնոջը պարբերաբար վախեցրել են վահագն Աբգարյանի «աջ ձեռքը» համարվող Արկո մականունով Արթուր Մնացականյանի միջոցով»:
