Ջորջ Վաշինգտոնի պատկերով ոսկե մետաղադրամը աճուրդի կդրվի ԱՄՆ-ում

Խոսքը ոսկե մետաղադրամի մասին Է, որը հատել են 1792 թվականին: Այն չունի անվանական արժեք եւ երբեք շրջանառության մեջ չի եղել, այլ որպես նմուշ ԱՄՆ-ի առաջին նախագահին է ներկայացվել այն ժամանակ, երբ նոր ձեւավորված պետությունում ընթանում էին ազգային դրամահատարանի ստեղծման պատրաստությունները:
Մետաղադրամի կողմերից մեկի վրա պատկերված է Վաշինգտոնի կիսադեմը, որը երկրի նախագահն է եղել 1789-ից մինչեւ 1797 թվականը, մյուսի վրա՝ ճերմակագլուխ արծիվ, որն ԱՄՆ-ի հերալդիկ խորհրդանիշն է:
ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահը մերժել է նմուշը՝ մետաղադրամի վրա պետության ղեկավարի պատկերը համարելով «չափազանց միապետական» խորհրդանիշ: Այսպիսով, 1793 թվականի առաջին մետաղադրամների նմուշները, որոնք հատվել են արծաթից կամ պղնձից, դիմերեսին որոշվել է դրոշմել հին հռոմեական Լիբերտաս աստվածուհու պատկերը, որն ազատության մարմնավորումն է:
Աճուրդները տեղի կունենան այս տարվա օգոստոսի կեսերին: Մետաղադրամը 1890 թվականից ի վեր առաջին անգամ է դրվում հանրային աճուրդի: Ինչպես հայտարարել են Heritage Auctions-ում, հազվագյուտ իրի մեկնարկային գինը սահմանված է 1 մլն դոլարի չափով: Մինչեւ աճուրդի անցկացումը Վաշինգտոնի մետաղադրամը համընդհանուր դիտման է դրվելու մի շարք ցուցահանդեսներում, որոնք կկազմակերպվեն Լոնգ-Բիչ (Կալիֆոռնիայի նահանգ), Չիկագո (Իլինոյսի նահանգ) եւ Նյու Յորք քաղաքներում, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը:
