POLITICS«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
Ինչպես և սպասվում էր, Երևանի ավագանու երեկվա նիստը չկայացավ, ուստի նոր քաղաքապետ չընտրվեց, քանի որ ներկա էր ավագանու ընդամենը 5 անդամ: Սա նշանակում է, որ կառավարությունը պետք է նշանակի արտահերթ ընտրություններ: Մեր ունեցած տեղեկություններով, կառավարությունը չի շտապի ավագանու լիազորությունները դադարեցնել և կօգտվի օրենքի ընձեռած առավելագույն ժամկետներից: Դա վերաբերում է նաև արտահերթ ընտրություններ նշանակելու օրենսդրական ժամկետներին՝ 30–40 օր: Ըստ այդմ, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, որպես արտահերթ ընտրությունների օր կառավարությունը կնշանակի սեպտեմբերի 9–ը (կիրակի): Սա փաստացի առաջին հերթին թույլ է տալիս քաղաքական առումով մեռյալ օգոստոսին հնարավրինս քիչ օրեր թողնել քարոզարշավի համար, իսկ քարոզարշավի ամենաթեժ շրջանը «գցել» սեպտեմբերի սկզբին, երբ հանգստի մեկնածներն արդեն վերադարձած կլինեն, հետո՝ հանդիպումների համար այդքան էլ շոգ չի լինի: Տեսականորեն չի բացառվում, որ կառավարությունը ընտրության օր սահմանի ոչ շաբաթ–կիրակի որևէ օր, սակայն դրա համար հարկավոր է այդ օրը հայտարարել ոչ աշխատանքային, սակայն հազիվ թե գործադիրը գնա նման «շռայլության», քանի որ անհասկանալի կլինի արհեստական ոչ աշխատանքային օր սահմանելը, երբ հանգիստ կարելի է տեղավորվել օրենսդրորեն սահմանված ժամկետների մեջ:
