Քարանձավային մարդիկ քարանձավներում չեն ապրել

Իրականում այնքան էլ այդպես չէ:
Պարզվում է, որ քարանձավային մարդիկ ապրել են բաց տարածքներում:
Ընդհանրապես, «քարանձավային մարդ» կոչում են քարե դարում ապրող այն մարդկանց, որոնք հետքեր են թողել քարանձավներում (նեանդարթալցիներ և կրոմոնյոնցիներ): Նեանդարթալցիները ընդհանրապես նման չեն եղել ժամանակակից մարդկանց: Իսկ ահա կրոմոնյոնցիները նման են ժամանակակից մարդկանց:
Քարանձավային մարդ տերմինն առաջացել է 19–20–րդ դարերում, երբ սկսեցին հետազոտվել քարանձավները, և այնտեղ մարդկային կենսագործունեության հետքեր հայնաբերվեցին (միայն Եվրոպայում հայտնաբերված է 277 այդպիսի քարանձավ): Քարանձավային մարդ տերմինը հիմնականում վերաբերում է պալեոլիթի վերջին սառցային դարաշրջանում ապրող մարդկանց: Նրանց նկարագրում են որպես անտաշ և անմշակույթ մարդիկ: Սրանք որսորդությամբ զբաղվող մարդիկ էին և վարում էին քոչվոր կյանք: Նրանք ապրում էին բաց տարածքներում, իսկ քարանձավները օգտագործում էին որպես պահեստներ, նաև կրոնական ծեսեր կատարելու և ցեղի մահացածներին թաղելու վայրեր: Հարցն այն է, որ բաց տարածքում նրանք ոչ մի հնէաբանական հետք չեն թողել, ժամանակը ջնջել է ամեն ինչ, իսկ քարանձավներում նրանց հետքերը նկարների կամ գործիքների տեսքով պահպանվել են: Այդտեղից էլ սխալը՝ կոչել նրանց քարանձավային մարդ: Իրականում քարանձավում ապրելը ոչ ավելի անվտանգ է, ոչ էլ ավելի հաճելի (ոտաբոբիկ ավելի հեշտ է քայլել խոտերի վրա, այլ ոչ թե սառած քարերի), բացի այդ՝ վաղ թե ուշ մարդկանց մոտ հոդացավեր և խոնավության հետ կապված այլ հիվանդություններ կզարգանային:
Հետաքրքիրն այն է, որ այս քարանձավային մարդիկ, որպես կանոն, ճամբարներ են խփել ամենագեղատեսիլ վայրերում: Անթրոպոլոգները համարում են, որ եթե ինչ–որ մեկը ցանկանում է նրանց բնակատեղին գտնել, ապա պետք է գտնի չնաշխարհիկ տեսարաններ ունեցող բաց տարածք: Նրանք բավականին վտանգավոր ժամանակաշրջանում են ապրել՝ բազմաթիվ վայրի գիշատիչ կենդանիներ և այլ վտանգներ:
Չնայած դրան, նրանք ժամանակ են գտել քարանձավների պատերին նկարելու համար: Ըստ մի վարկածի, պատերին մարդիկ կենդանիներ են նկարել ապագա որսի հաջողությունը ապահովելու համար, իսկ մի այլ վարկածի համաձայն, այդ նկարներն արել են նրանց դեռահաս երեխաները՝ ժամանակ կարճելու համար: Քարանձավային մարդիկ ունեին զարգացած սոցիալական հասարակություն, որտեղ աշխատանքը բաժանված էր բոլորի միջև, ապրում էին ընտանիքներով, բայց ցեղի հետ: Օգտագործելիս են եղել կրակ, բայց այն ստանալու մասին տվյալներ չկան: Պատրաստելիս են եղել քարե գործիքներ և անգամ զարդեր: Աստիճանաբար սկսել են օգտագործել նիզակներ և սովորել են նույնիսկ նետ ու աղեղ օգտագործել:
Ինձ թվում է՝ «քարանձավային մարդ» տերմինը սխալ է, և այդ հին մարդկանց պետք է կոչել «քարանձավային հայեր»: Իմ այս միտքը հաստատում է նաև վերջերս հայերի կողմից քարանձավում գտնված ամենահին կոշիկը՝ չարոխը: Դա նշանակում է, որ դաշտերից հայերն են առաջին անգամ «քարանձավ–բնակարան» տեղափոխվել՝ չարոխների հայտնագործությունից հետո (կարևոր է, որ ոտքերը չմրսեն, թե չէ մեկ էլ տեսար, մարդ մեջքացավ ստացավ և չկարողացավ մամոնտ որսալ):
