Աշխարհի որոշ երկրներում դիտվում է դիֆթերիայի առումով անբարենպաստ համաճարակային իրավիճակ: 2018 թվականին Ուկրաինայում արդեն իսկ գրանցվել է դիֆթերիայի 8 դեպք, որոնցից մեկի վիճակը ծանր է, չնայած այն հանգամանքին, որ բուժման նպատակով ստացել է հակադիֆթերիային շիճուկ (հղում՝ https://www.promedmail.org/post/5935153): Վենեսուելայում դեպքերը սկսել են կրկին գրանցվել 2016 թվականի հունիսից և մինչև 2018 թվականի ապրիլն ընկած ժամանակահատվածը գրանցվել է դիֆթերիայի 121 դեպք, որոնցից 14-ը մահվան ելքով (մահ դիֆթերիային միոկարդիտից (սրտամկանի բորբոքում) և սրտանոթային համակարգի այլ բարդություններից) (hղում՝ http://outbreaknewstoday.com/venezuela-bolivar-hospital-records-19-diphtheria-deaths-61373/):

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ՀՀ առողջապահության նախարարությունը հիշեցնում է, որ դիֆթերիայի կանխարգելման միակ անվտանգ և արդյունավետ միջոցը պատվաստումն է: Պատվաստումների ազգային օրացույցի համաձայն` դիֆթերիայի դեմ պատվաստումներ նախատեսված են նաև մեծահասակ բնակչության համար՝ յուրաքանչյուր տասը տարին մեկ:

«Հորդորում ենք դիմել տարածքային պոլիկլինիկա և տեղեկանալ Ձեր պատվաստումային կարգավիճակի մասին: Եթե վերջին տասը տարվա ընթացքում չեք պատվաստվել դիֆթերիայի դեմ, ապա՝ պատվաստվեք, քանզի միայն ժամանակին և լիարժեք իրականացված պատվաստումները կարող են կանխել հիվանդությունը և դրա հետևանքով առաջացած բարդությունները»,- ասվում է հայտարարության մեջ:
