Կոկոսյան արմավենու ընկույզի ներսում գտնվում է կոկոսի կաթը:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Կոկոսի ընկույզի ներսում գտնվում է ոչ թե կոկոսի կաթը, այլ կոկոսի ջուրը: Կոկոսի կաթ ստացվում է միայն արհեստական եղանակով: Կոկոսի կաթ կարելի է ստանալ կոկոսի սպիտակ միջուկը քերելուց հետո ջրի մեջ լուծելով: Կոկոսի կաթը եռացնելով՝ կարելի է ստանալ կոկոսի սերուցք: Միայն քերելով ստացվում են կոկոսի փաթիլներ, իսկ դրանք հետագայում մամլելով՝ կարելի է ստանալ բնական կոկոսի յուղ: Կոկոսի կաթը պարունակում է 27 % ճարպեր, 6 % ածխաջրեր, 4 % սպիտակուցներ և վիտամիններ (В1, В2, В3, С) ու միկրոէլեմենտներ: Կոկոսյան արմավենին միակ բույսն է, որն իր ընկույզների մեջ ունենում է սերմնահեղուկ: Կոկոսի ջուրը կոկոսյան արմավենու նոր հասունացած ընկույզի սերմնահեղուկն է՝ իր աճի համար բնորոշ միջավայրում գտնվող բեղմնավորված սաղմ: Ընկույզի հետագա հասունացման ժամանակ վերջինիս մեջ են լցվում սպիտակ միջուկի քայքայման նյութերը և այն վերածվում է կաթի, որը հետագայում խտանում և վերածվում է, այսպես կոչված, «կոկոսի խնձորի»: Իրականում այս վիճակում կոկոսի ընկույզը ուտելու համար համարվում է ոչ պիտանի: Սաղմը, հետագայում սնվելով կաթով, աճում է և ճյուղավորվելով՝ դուրս է գալիս կոկոսի ընկույզի գագաթին գտնվող երեք անցքերից: 

Կոկոսի ընկույզի թարմ ջուրը լրիվ ստերիլ է, հարուստ է վիտամիններով և հանքանյութերով և ունի այն նույն իզոտոնիկ աղային տոկոսային բաղադրությունը, ինչ մարդու արյունը: Սա նշանակում է, որ այն կարող է փոխարինել ֆիզիոլոգիական լուծույթին և օգտագործվել որպես նրա փոխարինիչ ներերակային ներարկումների համար: Այն ունի լավ համային հատկություններ և հանդիսանում է լավ միջոց ծարավի հագեցման համար, բուժում է խումհարը: Այն արագ խմորվում է և նրանից ստացվում է հիասքանչ գինի:

Կոկոսյան արմավենին իր անունը ստացել է պորտուգալական coco («կապիկ») բառից: Սումատրայում կապիկներին վարժեցրել են ծառերից կոկոսներ հավաքել, քանի որ կոկոս հավաքելն իրականում վտանգավոր զբաղմունք է մարդու համար: Կոկոսյան արմավենու հայրենիքը ենթադրաբար Մալազիան է: Այն ունենում է 27–30 մետր բարձրություն, բնի հաստությունը 15–45 սանտիմետր է և հարթ, ծառի գագաթին գտնվում են լայն տերևները և պտուղները՝ ընկույզները: Կոկոսյան արմավենու ամեն ինչն է օգտագործվում: Նրա ընկույզի կաթը, սերուցքը, յուղը և փաթիլները օգտագործվում են ինչպես խոհարարության, այնպես էլ բժշկության մեջ: Արմավենու փայտանյութը լավ շինափայտ է, իսկ լայն տերևները օգտագործում են որպես տանիքի շինանյութ: Ֆիլիպինների նախկին նախագահ Ֆերդինանդ Մարկոսն իր համար կոկոսի ընկույզներից պալատ է կառուցել, որի արժեքը 10 միլիոն դոլար է: Ընդ որում, շենքը երկու հարկանի է: Կոկոսյան արմավենու արմատից բերանը ողողելու հեղուկ են ստանում: Ընկույզի կեղևը աղալուց հետո ստացված նյութը օգտագործվում է ռեակտիվ շարժիչները մաքրելու համար: Արդեն 3000 տարի համարվում է, որ կոկոսյան արմավենին աշխարհի ամենաօգտակար ծառն է: Հին սանսկրիտյան տեքստերում այն կոչվում է kalpa vriksha – ծառ, որը կյանք է տալիս:

Հետաքրքիր է, պարզվում է, որ «Ով եմ ես » կինոնկարում Ջեկի Չանի կոկոսի ընկույզից պատրաստած կաթոցիչը (капелница) և իրականացրած ներերակային ներարկումը այնքան էլ ֆանտաստիկայի ժանրից չէ: Ավելին, պարզվում է, որ Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի ժամանակ այս մեթոդը անգամ օգտագործվել է բրիտանացիների և ճապոնացիների կողմից, երբ ներերակային լուծույթ չի եղել:
