Քալիֆորնիայում ապրող 26-ամյա Լուիս Օփթիսը որոշ ժամանակ տառապել է ուժգնացող գլխացավերից և կարծել, թե շոգի պատճառով իր մոտ միգրեն է առաջացել: Սակայն երբ տղայի մոտ ի հայտ են եկել տարածության մեջ չկողմնորոշվելու ախտանշաններ ու փսխում, մայրը նրան տարել է հիվանդանոց (Mamul.am):
Միանչ բժիշկները հետազոտել են, Լուիսը հայտնվել է կոմայի մեջ: Հետազոտությունը պարզել է, որ տղայի գլխում կա ժապավենաձև որդ, որը չհեռացվելու դեպքում կսպանի նրան առաջիկա կես ժամվա ընթացքում: Բժիշկներն իրականացրել են անհապաղ վիրահատական գործողություններ, հիվանդի քունքի հատվածում բացված անցքով նրանք նախ խողովակ են տեղադրել՝ ներգանգային ճնշումը նվազեցնելու համար, այնուհետև հատուկ սարքով հեռացրել են որդը, որը հանելուց հետո էլ դեռ շարժվելիս է եղել: Ի դեպ, որդն ուղեղի մեջ արդեն հասցրած է եղել կիստա առաջացնել, որը հեռացվել է դրա հետ մեկտեղ:
