ԱՄՆ 60-ից ավել կոնգրեսականներ, այդ թվում Ադամ Շիֆը և Դան Դոնովանը նամակ են հղել ԱՄՆ նախագահ Բարաք Օբամային՝ կոչ անելով մարդասիրական արտոնություններ տրամադրել այն ներգաղթյալներին, որոնք ունեն արդեն հաստատված խնդրագրեր և ընտանիք ԱՄՆ-ում:Այդ մաաին հաղորդում է asbarez.com-ը։
Նախատեսվում է, որ ծրագիրն արտակարգ օգնություն կտրամադրի ավելի քան 7 հազար սիրիացի ընտանիքի կամ 20 հազար մարդու, ովքեր արդեն անցել են նախնական ստուգումները, սակայն տարեկան թվային սահմանափակումների պատճառով վիզա նրանց չի տրամադրվել։ Նշվում է, որ եթե նրանց արտոնություններ տրամադրվեն, այդ անձինք կենթարկվեն անվտանգության խիստ ստուգումների մի քանի լրացուցիչ քայլերի՝ մինչ երկիր մուտք գործել կարողանալը։
