ԱՄՆ-ում մահացել է լեգենդար ծանրորդ Յուրի Վարդանյանը
SOCIETYԱՄՆ-ում 62 տարեկան հասակում մահացել է Օլիմպիական խաղերի, Աշխարհի 7-ակի ու Եվրոպայի 5-ակի չեմպիոն, ծանրորդ Յուրի Վարդանյանը:
Այս մասին Tert.am-ին հայտնեցին ՀՀ սպորտի և երիտասարդության հարցերի նախարարությունից։
Այժմ քննարկվում է նրա մարմինը Հայաստան տեղափոխելու հարցը:
Յուրի Վարդանյանը ծնվել է 1956 թվականի հունիսի 13-ին։ 1977 թվականին ստացել է ԽՍՀՄ սպորտի վաստակավոր վարպետի կոչում։ 1980 թվականին ավարտել է Լենինականի Մանկավարժական Ինստիտուտը։ 1977-1979, 1980-1981, 1983, 1985 թվականներին նա դարձել է աշխարհի չեմպիոն և գավաթակիր։ 1980 թվականին օլիմպիական չեմպիոն։ 1977-1978, 1980-1981, 1983 թվականներին Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն և գավաթակիր։ 1977, 1979, 1981 թվականներին ԽՍՀՄ չեմպիոն և 1976 թվականին գավաթակիր։
1980 թվականին իր առաջին խոշոր նվաճմանը Յուրի Վարդանյանը հասավ Մոսկվայի օլիմպիական խաղերի ժամանակ։ Հանդես գալով 82,5 կգ քաշային կարգում՝ նա նվաճեց ոսկե մեդալ և սահմանեց ռեկորդ` միջին քաշային կարգում բարձրացնելով 400 կգ։
2013-2014 թվականներին եղել է սպորտի և երիտասարդության հարցերի նախարար, ապա Վրաստանում Հայաստանի դեսպան:
