«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Աստանայում հայ գործարարների հետ հանդիպման ընթացքում վարչապետն ասել էր, թե «350.000 մարդ ճռռում է, որ պահի 800.000 մարդու»: Առաջին անգամը չէ, որ Փաշինյանը մտահոգություն է հայտնում հայաստանցիների աշխատելու ցանկության բացակայության վերաբերյալ: Սակայն այս անգամ, կապված մտահոգության արտահայտման տոնայնության և ընտրված ձևակերպումների հետ, Փաշինյանի այս միտքն արժանացավ հանրային հակասական արձագանքների: 

Փաշինյանն, իհարկե, մասամբ ճիշտ է՝ հասարակության մի ահռելի հատված նախընտրում է չաշխատել ու փոխարենը պետությունից նպաստ ստանալ: Ավելին՝ հասարակության ահռելի հատված, նույնիսկ աշխատանք ունեցող հատվածը նախաձեռնողականություն չի դրսևորում: Ընդհանրապես շատ երկար կարելի է թվել սոցիալական այն «արատները», որոնք առկա են մեր՝ հայաստանցիներիս շրջանում: Բայց իշխանության խնդիրը ոչ թե այդ արատները թվելն ու դրանք վկայակոչելով մուննաթ գալն է, այլ խնդիրը արձանագրելը, այն ուսումնասիրելը ու լուծումներ գտնելը:

Պատահական չէ, որ Փաշինյանի ելույթը ֆեյսբուքյան օգտատերերից շատերը համեմատեցին Սերժ Սարգսյանի՝ նախկինում արված հայտարարություններից մեկի հետ, որտեղ Սերժ Սարգսյանը կոչ էր անում լավ ապրելու համար շատ աշխատել: Չնայած երկու դեպքում էլ գործ ունենք իշխանական մուննաթի հետ, սակայն Սարգսյանի դեպքում այդ մուննաթը ինչ–որ տեղ առնվազն ներդաշնակ էր՝ հաշվի առնելով, որ նա ներկայացնում էր վերնախավերի իշխանությունը: Փաշինյանն, ընդհակառակը, ներկայացնում է ժողովրդին՝ թե՛ «ճռռացող» 350 հազարին, թե՛ մուննաթի թիրախ 800 հազարին: Նա իշխանության է եկել համաժողովրդական գործընթացի արդյունքում: Հետևաբար, ի տարբերություն Սարգսյանի, նա չունի մուննաթի ռեսուրս, որովհետև փաստացի մուննաթ է գալիս իր քաղաքական հենարանի վրա: 

Արդյունավետ իշխանության խնդիրը ոչ թե հասարակության արատները մատնանշելն է, այլ այդ արատների ազդեցությունը նվազեցնող միջավայր ստեղծելն է: Ի վերջո պետությունը եկեղեցու ֆունկցիաներ չի ստանձնել, պետության խնդիրը բարոյական չէ, գործառնական է: Որևէ հասարակություն ինքն իրեն չի դարձել կարգապահ, աշխատասեր: Իշխանություններն են իրենց ստեղծած մեխանիզմներով բերել այդ կարգապահությունն ու աշխատասիրությունը:
