Նա անդրադարձավ իշխանության ներկայացուցիչների հայտարարություններին, թե իրենք առաջիկա ընտրություններին մրցակիցներ չունեն կամ արդեն հաղթել; են. «Տղերք, մի կրկնեք իմ ու Էդիկ Շարմազանովի սխաները, մի արեք դա: կործանումը սկսվում է գոռոզամտությունից ու մեծամտությունից: Փառք Աստծո, մի բարեկիրթ նախարար գտնվեց, ԿԳ նախարարը, որ ասաց՝ բոլորն են մեզ մրցակից:

Նա հավելեց, որ եթե ուզում եք քաղաքական բանավեճ, կունենաք դա. «Եթե ոչ, ապա կունենանք ազատություն ճնշող, ժողովրդավարություն ճնշող, բազմակարծություն ճնշող մեծամասնություն խորհրդարանում, որը ոչ մի քաղաքական պրոդուկտ մեր ժողովրդին չի կարող ներկայացնել»,-ընդգծեց Աշոտյանը:
