INTERNATIONAL NEWSԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Մայք Պոմպեոն հայտարարել է, որ ծանոթացել է լրագրող Ջամալ Խաշոգջիի սպանության հետախուզության՝ ԱՄՆ տրամադրության տակ եղած տեղեկատվության հետ և նշել է, որ չկան ուղիղ ապացույցներ տվյալ հանցագործությանը թագաժառանգ Էր-Ռիյադի մասնակցության մասին, հաղորդում է Reuters-ը՝ վկայակոչելով CNN հեռուստաընկերությանը G20 գագաթնաժողովի ընթացքում Պոմպեոյի տված հարցազրույցը:
«Ես կարդացել եմ հետախուզության՝ Միացյալ Նահանգների կառավարության տրամադրության տակ եղած յուրաքանչյուր զեկույցը», նշել է Պոմպեոն:
«Յուրաքանչյուր զեկույցի ավարտին վերլուծելիս չկա որևէ ուղիղ վկայություն, որը հաստատում է թագաժառանգի կապը Ջամալ Խաշոգջիի սպանության հետ: Սա ճշտգրիտ հայտարարություն է, կարևոր հայտարարություն է, որը մենք այսօր հանրայնացնում ենք»,-ասել է նա:
Ընդ որում, պատասխանելով Կենտրոնական հետախուզական վարչության հայտարարության մասին հեռուստաալիքի հարցին, որը նախկինում թագաժառանգին կապում էր լրագրողի սպանության հետ, ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարը նշել է, որ չի կարող մեկնաբանել վարչության եզրակացությունը:
Խաշոգջին, որն աշխատում էր ամերիկյան Washington Post թերթում որպես տեսաբան և 2017 թվականից բնակվում էր ԱՄՆ-ում, անհետացել էր հոկտեմբերի 2-ին Ստամբուլում Սաուդյան Արաբիայի գլխավոր հյուպատոսության շենք մուտք գործելուց հետո: Սաուդյան Արաբիայի պետական լրատվամիջոցները հոկտեմբերի 20-ի գիշերը տարածել էին երկրի գլխավոր դատախազի հայտարարությունը, որ, ըստ նախնական տվյալների, Խաշոգջին մահացած է, իսկ մահվան պատճառ է դարձել հյուպատոսության աշխատակիցների հետ վեճը:
Ստամբուլի դատախազությունը հայտարարել էր, որ Խաշոգջիի սպանությունը կանխամտածված էր. լրագրողի մարմինը մասնատվել էր և ոչնչացվել գլխավոր հյուպատոսությունում նրան խեղդամահ անելուց հետո: Թուրքիան Սաուդյան Արաբիայից պահանջում է հանձնել հանցագործության մեղավորներին, ինչպես նաև բացահայտել Խաշոգջիի մարմնի գտնվելու վայրը:
