Թեպետ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման առնչությամբ շատերն են քննադատում ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբին, քանի որ բանակցությունների առումով արդյունքներ չկան, սակայն խումբն աշխատում է և համանախագահների կողմից կրեատիվության պակաս չի զգացվում: Երևանում ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի ՌՈՈՒԶ ՌՈԹ սեմինարի ժամանակ նման տեսակետ հայտնեց «Կովկաս» ծրագրի գիտաշխատող Լորենս Բյուրսը՝ հավելելով, որ նրանք անընդհատ ներկայացնում են տարատեսակ առաջարկություններ, այլ հարց է, թե այդ առաջարկությունները որքանով են ընդունում և կիրառում կողմերը:

«Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ, ԼՂ հակամարտության կարգավորման ուղղությամբ Բյուրսն առաջարկում է, որ, բացի նախագահներից և արտաքին գործերի նախարարներից, քննարկումներին մասնակցեն նաև այլ գործիչներ: «Շատ կարևոր է, որպեսզի վերականգնվի երկու երկրների պաշտպանության նախարարների միջև կապը: Նախարարները հանդիպում են ոչ սեփական նախաձեռնությամբ որևէ քաղաքում: Սակայն լավ կլինի, որպեսզի նախարարները կարողանան այցելել միմյանց երկրներ և քննարկումները կազմակերպեն: Բացի այդ, Մադրիդյան սկզբունքները պետք է համապատասխանեցվեն այսօրվա իրավիճակին»,- ասաց Բյուրսը' հավելելով, որ առանց նոր գաղափարների Մինսկի խումբը կլինի ընդամենը «գործընթաց' հանուն գործընթացի»: Իհարկե, դա կկանխի պատերազմը, սակայն հասարակության օտարացումը կբերի անդառնալի հետևանքների:
