SOCIETYՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիու Գուտերեշն ուղերձ է հղել Մարդու իրավունքների օրվա առթիվ: Ուղերձում, մասնավորապես ասված է.
«70 տարի շարունակ «Մարդու իրավունքների համընդհանուր հռչակագիր»-ը գլոբալ փարոս է եղել՝ լույս սփռելով արժանապատվության, հավասարության և բարեկեցության համար…և հույս բերելով խավարին:
Հռչակագրում ամրագրված իրավունքները կիրառելի են բոլորի համար՝ անկախ ռասսայից, հավատից, բնակության վայրից կամ որևէ այլ առանձնահատկությունից: Մարդու իրավունքները համընդհանուր են և հարատև: Դրանք անքակտելի են։ Հնարավոր չէ առանձնացնել և ընտրել քաղաքացիական, քաղաքական, տնտեսական, սոցիալական կամ մշակութային իրավունքներ։
Այսօր մենք նաև պատվում ենք մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպաններին, ովքեր վտանգում են իրենց կյանքը հանուն մարդկանց պաշտպանության՝ չնայած ավելացող ատելությանը, ռասիզմին, անհանդուրժողականությանը և ճնշմանը:
Իրապես, մարդու իրավունքներն ամբողջ աշխարհում պաշարման մեջ են գտնվում: Համամարդկային արժեքները քայքայվում են: Օրենքի գերակայությունը թուլանում է: Առավել քան երբևէ, այսօր մեր համընդհանուր պարտավորությունը հստակ է: Ելնե՛նք հանուն մարդու իրավունքների՝ բոլորի համար և ամենուր»:
