«Մեր գործընկերների պաշտպանության առումով մտավախություններ ունենք։ Հասկանալի է, որ քաղաքացիներն իրավունք ունեն բողոքի ձայն բարձրացնել եւ հավաքների միջոցով որոշակի գործընթացների վրա ազդել, բայց չմոռանանք, որ գործ ունենք արդարադատության համակարգի հետ»,-լրագրողների հետ զրույցում այսօր անդրադառնալով Մանվել Գրիգորյանի պաշտպանի հետ տեղի ունեցած միջադեպին, երբ ցուցարարը թքել էր նրա մեքենայի վրա, ասաց ՀՀ փաստաբանների պալատի նախագահ Արա Զոհրաբյանը։ Նա հիշեցրեց, որ սա միակ դեպքը չէ, եւ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի պաշտպանները եւս հանրության կողմից սպառնալիքների են արժանանում։ Արա Զոհրաբյանը նշեց, որ հանրության կողմից դատարանների հանդեպ նման ճնշումներն անթույլատրելի են. «Պատկերացրեք, որ ճնշման ներքո դատավորը կարող է սխալ արդարադատություն իրականացնել` վախենալով հանրության ցասումից։ Դա իրավական պետությանը ոչ հարիր գործընթաց է։ Նման դեպքերում դատական ակտը կարող է խոցելի լինել Եվրոպական դատարանում, որը կարձանագրի` խախտվել է անձի պաշտպանության իրավունքը»: Արա Զոհրաբյանը շեշտեց, որ ցանկացած քաղաքացի, ով ուզում է լինի, ունի պաշտպանության իրավունք. «Անգամ Պերմյակովը, որն ահասարսուռ հանցագործություն էր կատարել, ուներ պաշտպանության իրավունք, բայց նրա փաստաբանի նկատմամբ նման ճնշումներ չկային, նա չէր դարձել հանրության թիրախը։ Իհարկե, այստեղ կարեւորում եմ նաեւ տուժողների իրավահաջորդների իրավագիտակցության բարձրացման մակարդակը։ Իսկ Մանվել Գրիգորյանի փաստաբաններն այսօր դարձել են հանրության թիրախը»:
