Գայլերը ոռնում են լիալուսնի ժամանակ:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Պարզվում է` գայլի համար կապ չունի` լուսին կա, թե ոչ, միևնույն է, նա ոռնալու է, եթե պետք է:

Գայլը կաթնասունների դասի շնազգիների ընտանիքի ցեղատեսակ է։ Տարածված է տափաստաններում, հատկապես անասունների արոտատեղերում, անապատներում, տունդրայում, հազվադեպ՝ խիտ տայգայում։ Տափաստանային և անապատային գայլերը ապրում են փորած բներում, անտառայինները՝ որջերում, եղեգնուտներում, իսկ լեռնային վայրերում՝ քարանձավներում: Սնվում է վայրի և ընտանի սմբակավորներով, շներով, նապաստակներով, մանր կրծողներով։ Գայլերը ապրում են զույգերով, ուշ աշնանը և ձմռան սկզբին երբեմն շրջում են ոհմակով։ Գայլը շատ զգուշավոր է։ Երբեմն ամենափորձառու բնախույզն անգամ չի կարողանում գտնել մայր գայլի որջը, որտեղ մեծանում են ձագերը։ Ոհմակի բոլոր անդամները կերակրում և խնամում են ձագերին։ Ոհմակը շատ արագաշարժ է և զգույշ, ուստի այն գտնելը շատ դժվար է։ Ձմռանը գայլերը հեշտությամբ խույս են տալիս մարդկանցից, շրջանցում թակարդներն ու վտանգավոր տեղերը։ Նրանք հայտնվում են անսպասելի և հանկարծակիի բերում մարդկանց, գոմերից ոչխարներ փախցնում, կամ շներին ճանկում։ Պատահում է, որ նաև մարդկանց վրա են հարձակվում։ Գայլերի կյանքի տևողությունը 15–20 տարի է։

Ոռնոցը գայլի համար հանդիսանում է շփման և տեղեկատվության փոխանցման միջոց: Ոռնացող գայլը կարող է հետապնդել մի քանի նպատակ: Օրինակ, ոհմակի խմբակային ոռնոցը ընտանիք–ոհմակի համախմբման և միավորման նպատակ է հետապնդում և կարող է լինել, օրինակ, ոհմակի անդամներից մեկի սատկելու ժամանակ: 

Միայնակ գայլի ոռնոցը կարող է նշանակել կա՛մ հաղորդակցություն հարևան գայլերի հետ, որոնք ևս սկսում են ոռնալ, կա՛մ ազդանշան, որ այդ տարածքը իրենն է, կա՛մ որ տարածքում ավար կա, կա՛մ տարածքը վտանգավոր է, կա՛մ էլ դա ազատ զուգընկեր փնտրելու առաջարկ է: Այդ ամենից ելնելով էլ ոռնոցը նրբերանգներ է ունենում, որոնք արտահայտում են թախիծ, վախ, ուրախություն, սեր և այլն: 

Մոլորությունը, թե գայլերը ոռնում են լիալուսնի «վրա», մի շարք պատճառներ ունի: Նախ՝ իհարկե երբեմն լինում է, որ գայլերը ցերեկն էլ են ոռնում, սակայն՝ հազվադեպ. հիմնականում նրանք ոռնում են արևածագին և ավելի քիչ՝ գիշերը: Երկրորդ՝ գայլը ոռնալիս գլուխը դեպի երկինք է ուղղում , քանի որ այդպես ձայնը հավասարաչափ է տարածվում բոլոր ուղղություններով, իսկ ստացվում է այնպիսի պատկեր, որ նա կարծես թե նայում է լուսնին: Երրորդն այն է , որ թեկուզ անկախ նրանից՝ մառախուղ է, ամպամած է, լուսինը երևում է, թե չի երևում, գայլը ոռնում է, բայց պարզ գիշերներին, երբ սովորաբար քամի չի լինում, ձայնը լավ է տարածվում և լսվում հեռավորության վրա: Եվ վերջապես, վայրի բնությունում գայլ տեսնելը այնքան էլ հեշտ չէ. միայն այդպիսի գիշերներին՝ լավ տեսանելիության պայմաններում է հնարավոր տեսնել ոռնացող գայլի:

Ներկայումս համացանցում շատ կարելի է հանդիպել մարդկանց, որոնք հպարտությամբ իրենց համարում են «միայնակ գայլ» կամ «միայնակ գայլուհի»: Հենվելով ընդամենը հանրահայտ ռեմբո–ֆիլմերում տեսածների վրա՝ նրանց թվում է, թե դա հպարտանալու բան է, դուխով է: Իրականում գայլերը ապրում են կա՛մ զույգերով, կա՛մ էլ ոհմակում, իսկ միայնակ գայլն այն է, որը երկար կյանք չունի. կա՛մ ծեր է, կա՛մ հիվանդ, կա՛մ էլ թույլ: Այդպիսի գայլերը լինում են մազաթափված, կեղտոտ, նիհար և սովալլուկ աչքերով, քանի որ հիմնականում սնվում են լեշով: Եթե նկարագիրը համապատասխանում է՝ համարեք ձեզ միայնակ գայլ:
