Հետաքրքրական է, որ սիրահարված փղերը «բարեկամներ» են, քանի որ նրանցից յուրաքանչյուրի ընտանիքը սերում է նույն նախրից։

 

Նշվում է, որ արգելոցում բնակվում է մոտ 60 փիղ։ Լուսանկարիչը պատմել է, որ նա դիտարկել է, թե ինչպես են երկու փղերն ավելի քան մեկուկես ժամ միմյանց շոյում և փաղաքշում։

Նրանք համբուրվել են, ձայներ հանել և միասին քայլել։ 

For over half an hour, the two took turns repeating the action while their families grazed in the long grass nearby

From there, the pair, who were clearly enamoured with each other, would explore the other's mouth using the tip of its trunk

Margot Raggett spotted the loved-up interaction, explaining that the two would take turns resting their trunks on the other's head

After recent rains, the long grass was perfect for the animals to graze upon, which is likely what brought them all together

These two captured the photographer's attention and are believed to come from about two or three families who are related

In the Maasai Mara National Reserve, which is located just past the Serengeti National Park, a herd of 60 elephants were spotted roaming 

As they cuddled up with one another, each would wrap its trunk around the other's head in a gentle, affectionate manner
