Մենք գիտենք, որ...

Անգլուխ ձիավոր չի լինում, ինչպես և չի լինում անգլուխ որևէ կենդանի արարած: Գլխատումը անխուսափելի մահ է: 

Իրականում այնքան էլ այդպես չէ:

Եղել է դեպք, որ գլխատված կենդանին առանց գլխի ապրել է ամբողջ երկու տարի: 1945 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 10-ին ԱՄՆ-ի Կոլորադո նահանգի Ֆրուտա քաղաքի մի աքաղաղ կացնի հարվածի հետևանքով զրկվել է գլխից, բայց կենդանի է մնացել: Կնոջ պատվերով երեկոյան ընթրիքի համար ֆերմեր Լլոյդ Օլսենը բռնում է 5,5 ամսական աքաղաղին և կացնով գլուխը կտրում: Ի զարմանս ֆերմերի, գլխատված թռչունը մի կարճ ժամանակ չշարժվելուց հետո կանգնում է և սկսում է քայլել այնպես, կարծես ոչինչ էլ չի եղել: Զարմացած Օլսենը որոշում է պահել թռչնին և սկսում է կերակրել նրան ջրի և կաթի խառնուրդով ու եգիպտացորենի մանր հատիկներով: Աքաղաղի կերակրափողը հաճախ պատվել է լորձով, որը տերը մաքրում էր ներարկիչով: Արդյունքում այս աքաղաղը ոչ միայն կենդանի մնաց, այլ նաև հանրահայտ դարձավ՝ շրջելով ամբողջ Ամերիկայով և երևալով այնպիսի ամսագրերում, ինչպես, օրինակ, «Թայմսը» և «Լայֆը»: Իհարկե, պարզ է, որ իր այդ շրջագայությունների ընթացքում նա ոչինչ էլ չի տեսել, քանի որ գլուխ չուներ: Այս հանրահայտ աքաղաղին անվանել են Մայք: Նրա տերը՝ Լլոյդ Օլսենը, շրջելով ամբողջ ԱՄՆ-ով, «անգլուխ հրաշք-աքաղաղին» նայելու համար հետաքրքրասերներից 25 ցենտ էր վերցնում: Ցուցադրությունը հրաշալի էր, սկզբից Մայքը հայտնվում էր բեմում աքաղաղի չորացրած գլուխ կպցրած, որը հետո հանվում էր: Պարզ է, որ այդ գլուխը Մայքինը չէր, քանի որ նրա սեփական գլուխը վաղուց Օլսենի կատուն կերել էր: Իր փառքի գագաթնակետին բեմի այս «անգլուխ» աստղը ամիսը վաստակում էր 4 500 դոլար, իսկ այդ թռչնի արժեքը գնահատվում էր 10 000 դոլար: Այս շշմեցուցիչ արդյունքը առաջ բերեց մի շարք նմանակողների փորձերի, մարդիկ փորձում էին գլխատել թռչուններին, բայց երկու օրից ավելի նրանք կենդանի չէին մնում: Օլսենը Մայքին կերակրում էր կաթոցիչով: Իր անգլուխ կյանքի երկու տարիների ընթացքում Մայքը գիրացել էր 3 կիլոգրամով: Նա մշտապես իր վզով մաքրում էր փետուրները և փորձում չեղած կտուցով վերցնել կերի մնացորդները: Մի անգամ անշրջելի դժբախտություն է պատահում: Արիզոնա նահանգի Ֆենիքս քաղաքի հյուրանոցի համարում Մայքը շնչահեղձ է լինում: Նրա տերը՝ Օլսենը, մոռացել էր վերցնել կաթոցիչը և ներարկիչը՝ Մայքի կերակրափողը մաքրելու համար, և Մայքը սատկում է: Պաթանատոմիական հերձումը ցույց է տվել, որ Մայքին գլխատած կացինը երջանիկ պատահականությամբ չէր վնասել քներակը, այլապես Մայքը արյունաքամ կլիներ: Բացի դա, չնայած կտրված էր գլխուղեղի մեծ մասը, բայց պահպանված էր ուղեղի ցողունը, որը իրականացնում է կենսական ֆունկցիաների կարգավորումը՝ շնչառություն, արյան շրջանառություն և այլն: 

Նշենք, որ սկսած 1999 թվականից՝ Կոլորադո նահանգի Ֆրուտի քաղաքում մայիսի երրորդ ազատ օրերին նշվում է «Մայք-անգլուխ հրաշք-աքաղաղի» օրը: Միջոցառումները բազմազան են լինում, ներառյալ ձվերի նետում մրցույթը: Մայքը դարձել է այդ քաղաքի այցեքարտը, և դա ճիշտ է, քանի որ այն ժամանակ բոլորը գիտեին, որ Մայքն անգլուխ է, և միայն ինքը՝ Մայքը չգիտեր դա, քանի որ ուղեղ չուներ մտածելու համար: 

Իսկ ընդհանրապես, ինչպես երևում է, անգլուխ կարելի է ապրել: Սա ապացուցել են նաև մարդիկ: Բոլորիս շրջապատում էլ կան, չէ՞, այնպիսիք, որ ուղղակի այդպես էլ բնութագրվում են՝ «անգլուխ»:
