Հակաօքսիդանտները, որոնք կան խնձորի մեջ, օգնում են կանխել բջիջների և մանրաթելերի վնասվածքները, որոնք ենթակա են օքսիդացման:
Մասնագետների կարծիքով, բավարար հակաօքսիդանտները կարելի է ստանալ բանջարեղեններով և մրգերով հարուստ դիետայի օգնությամբ և դա ավելի օգտակար է, քան դեղահաբերի օգտագործումը, հատկապես եթե դրանք ունեն բացասական ազդեցություններ։
