Այն ապահովում է ավելի շատ երկաթ, քան սպանախը և ավելի շատ վիտամին С, քան կիտրոնն ու նարինջը:
Ներկայացնում ենք առողջության համար այս բույսի շատ օգուտներից մի քանիսը՝

Շատ դիետոլոգներ խորհուրդ են տալիս այս գերառողջ բանջարեղենն օգտագործել թարմ հյութի տեսքով, բայց ոչ մաքուր վիճակում: Մաքուր հյութը կարող է կոկորդում և ստամոքսում բորբոքային գործընթացի հանգեցնել, ուստի հյութը միշտ պետք է ջրով բացել 1:5 հարաբերակցությամբ (հյութ և ջուր համապատասխանաբար): Կարևոր է իմանալ նաև, որ հյութը պետք չէ ամեն օր օգտագործել, բաց երկու օրը մեկ կարելի է:
Կոտեմի հյութի տեղային օգտագործումը կարող է մաշկի շատ հիվանդություններ բուժել, այդ թվում՝ մաշկի թերություններ և ծերության բծեր, մազաթափություն և այլն: Պարզապես պետք է հյութը քսել խնդրահարույց մասին կամ կոտեմով կոմպրես անել: Կոտեմի մանրացված տերևներով կոմպրեսը չափազանց օգտակար է արևային բծերի առաջացումը նվազեցնելու համար:
Մի շարք ուսումնասիրություններ ցույց են տվել, որ օրգանիզմ հասնող կոտեմի էքստրակտը դադարեցնում է քաղցկեղի զարգացումը և մետասթազների առաջացումը: Այլ հետազոտություններ ցույց են տվել, որ կոտեմը նվազեցնում է սրտանոթային հիվանդությունների առաջացման ռիկսը և կանխում է կրծքագեղձի քաղցկեղը:
Կոտեմ նաև խորհուրդ է տրվում օգտագործել մոլի ծխողներին, այն վերացնում է ծխելու բացասական հետևանքները:
