«Հայկական ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է. «Երեկ Երեւանում մի թեթեւ անձրեւ տեղաց։ Հետեւանքը նման էր տարերային աղետի։ Նկարում պատկերված է Երեւանի Թամանյան-Կողբացի խաչմերուկը անձրեւից մի քանի րոպե անց։ Անձրեւի հետեւանքով մայրաքաղաքի բանուկ խաչմերուկներից մեկում մի իսկական ջրհեղեղ էր առաջացել։ Լայնն էր վիճակը նաեւ կենտրոնական այl խաչմերուկներում։ Եթե հետեւենք տարվա ընթացքում Երեւանի քաղաքապետարանի այսպես կոչված մամուլի հաղորդագրություններին, որոնք բացառապես PR բնույթ ունեն, ապա տպավորություն կստեղծվի, թե Երեւանում ամեն ինչ կարգին է, էլ խնդիրներ չեն մնացել։ Անընդմեջ ու ամենուր տարվում են ասֆալտապատման, կանաչապատման, բարեկարգման աշխատանքներ...։ Բայց հերիք է մի սովորական անձրեւ գա ու վերջ, պարզվում է, որ կատարված աշխատանքները, սովետական տերմինով ասած՝ «խալտուրաներ» են։ Արտաքինից ամեն ինչ պլպլում է, իսկ տարրական ինժեներական լուծումները չեն տրվում։

Եվ դա այն պայմաններում երբ միայն փողոցների «բարեկարգմանը» թե պետական բյուջեից, եւ թե տեղական բյուջեից աստղաբաշխական գումարներ են հատկացվում, ու աշնանն էլ էլի մի քանի միլիարդ հատկացվում է կառավարության պահուստային ֆոնդից։ Ամեն անգամ տեղացած անձրեւից, ձյունից հետո խնդիրներ են ի հայտ գալիս, որոնք պետք է վաղուց արդեն լուծված լինեին, հաշվի առնելով այն հսկայական ֆինանսական միջոցները որոնք պարբերաբար հատկացվում են այդ նպատակով։ Ու ընդհանրապես, Երեւանում քաղաքային նշանակության որեւէ կարեւոր խնդիր, ըստ էության, լուծված չէ։ ՀՀ մայրաքաղաքում ժամանակակից չափանիշների տեսանկյունից հասարակական տրանսպորտը, կարելի է ասել իսպառ բացակայում է։

Ցերեկվա ժամերին մայրաքաղաքի կենտրոնը կաթվածահար է լինում խցանումների պատճառով։ Երեւանը նմանվում է մի մեծ, շատ մեծ ավտոկայանատեղիի, հրշեջ ու շտապօգնության մեքենաները նպատակակետին հասնելու համար գերմարդկային ջանքեր պետք է թափեն...։ Ու այս վիճակը շարունակվում է տարիների շարունակ։ Ու էլի է շարունակվելու»:
