1889-մահացել է ազգային-ազատագրական շարժման գործիչ Վարդան Գալշոյանը։
1923-ծնվել է նշանավոր նկարիչ Հակոբ Հակոբյանը։
1936-ծնվել է բանաստեղծ, երգիծաբան և հրապարակախոս Արամայիս Սահակյանը։
1992-ադրբեջանցիները Կուրբանովի արդեն հայտնի Սու-25-ով և Մի-24 ուղղաթիռների էսկադրայով ռմբակոծել են Արցախի Մարտունի քաղաքը և Բուզլուխ, Մանաշիդ գյուղերը։
2001- Վաշինգտոնում Նորին սրբություն Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոսը առաջին հանդիպումն է ունեցել Սպիտակ տանը՝ ԱՄՆ-ի նորընտիր նախագահ Ջորջ Բուշի հետ:
2003-Երևանում բացվել է Հովհաննես Բաղրամյանի արձանը։
2005- Ղրիմի Գերագույն ռադան որոշում է կայացրել ապրիլի 24-ը ճանաչել որպես անցյալ դարասկզբին Թուրքիայում Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի օր: 2010-պաշտոնապես բացվել է Երևան քաղաքի Ազատության հրապարակի տակ կառուցված ստորգետնյա ավտոկայանատեղին, վերաբացվել է նաև շինարարական աշխատանքների կապակցությամբ շուրջ 2 տարի փակ մնացած հրապարակը։
2014-Հայաստանի հանրապետական կուսակցության 15-րդ համագումարում երկրի նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը վերընտրվել է կուսակցության ղեկավարի պաշտոնում: 2016-Տրանսպորտի և կապի նախարար Գագիկ Բեգլարյանի թիկնապահները կալանավորվել են՝ կապված մայիսի 16-ին վիճաբանության ընթացքում 5 անձի նկատմամբ բռնություն գործադրելու հետ: Տուժողներն ստացել են տարբեր աստիճանի մարմնական վնասվածքներ։

1032-Ավիցեննան դիտել և նկարագրել է Վեներայի անցումը Արեգակի սկավառակով։
1543-ծնվել է լեհ աստղագետ, մաթեմատիկոս և տնտեսագետ Նիկոլայ Կոպեռնիկոսը։
1686-ծնվել է գերմանացի ֆիզիկոս, ջերմաչափերում առաջին անգամ սնդիկ օգտագործած և Ֆարենհեյտի սանդղակը հայտնագործած Գաբրիել Ֆարենհեյտը։
1571-Ղրիմի խան Դեվլեյ-Գիրեյը պաշարել է Մոսկվայի Կրեմլը։
1626-Նոր Հոլանդիայի նահանգապետ Պետեր Մինեյտը հնդկացիներից գնել է Մանհեթթեն կղզին 60 գուլդենով։
1743-ծնվել է Ֆրանսիական մեծ հեղափոխության առաջնորդներից մեկը՝ Ժան Պոլ Մարատը։
1798-սկսվել է Իռլանդական ապստամբությունը, որը կազմակերպել էր «Իռլանդացիների միավորում» ընկերությունը։
1822-ներկայիս Էկվադորի տարածքը անկախություն է ստացել Իսպանիայից և դարձել է Կոլումբիայի մի մասը։
1844-Սեմյուել Մորզեի սարքի շնորհիվ ուղարկվել է աշխարհում առաջին հեռագիրը Վաշինգտոնից Բալթիմոր։
1900-Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում անձամբ Նիկոլայ 2-րդ ցարի ձեռքով ջուր է իջեցվել նոր հածանավ՝ «Ավրորան»։
1905-ծնվել է ռուս խորհրդային գրող , նոբելյան մրցանակակիր Միխայիլ Շոլոխովը։
1925-լույս է տեսել «Комсомольская правда» թերթի առաջին համարը։
1945-լեհ պարտիզանները Լյասե Ստոցկու ճակատամարտում պարտության են մատնել պետանվտանգության զորքերին։
1956-շվեյցարական Լուգանո քաղաքում կայացել է Եվրատեսիլի առաջին մրցույթը։
1964-Լիմայում կայացած Պերու-Արգենտինա ֆուտբոլային խաղի ժամանակ տեղի ունեցած անկարգությունների արդյունքում զոհվել է 328 մարդ, իսկ ավելի քան 4 000-ը ստացել են վնասվածքներ։
1982-Իրան-իրաքյան պատերազմի ընթացքում իրանական բանակը ազատագրել է Խորրեմշեխր քաղաքը։
1993-Էրիթրեան անկախացել է Եթովպիայից։
2001-ռուսալեզու Վիկիպեդիայում հայտնվել է առաջին հոդվածը։
2007-Նովոկուզնեցկում գտնվող «Հոբել յանական» հանքում տեղի է ունեցել պայթյուն, որի արդյունքում զոհվել է 38 մարդ։
2013-մահացել է կինոռեժիսոր, կինոօպերատոր, սցենարիստ, դերասան և կոմպոզիտոր Պյոտր Տոդորովսկին։
