ԱՄՆ 20-ից ավելի սենատորներ միացել են Արցախի ականազերծման ծրագրի ֆինանսավորման պայքարին (ֆոտո)
POLITICSԱՄՆ 16 նահանգից 22 սենատորներ, որոնք ներկայացնում են 143 մլն ամերիկացիների շահերը, Արցախի ականազերծման ծրագրի ֆինանսավորման շարունակման պայքարում միացել են Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի 89 անդամներին, հայտնում է Asbarez-ը՝ վկայակոչելով Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի (ANCA) հայտարարությունը:
Այս շաբաթ ավելի վաղ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի 89 անդամներ նամակ էին ստորագրել այս ծրագրի պաշտպանության օգտին, որի ֆինանսավորումը ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը մտադիր է դադարեցնել:
Սենատոր Ռոբերտ Մենենդեսի պատրաստած նամակը, որը Արտաքին կապերի կոմիտեի անդամ է, ԱՄՆ Միջազգային զարգացման գործակալության (USAID) ղեկավար Մարկ Գրինին կոչ է անում փոխել քաղաքականությունը եւ շարունակել ԱՄՆ ֆինանսավորումը, որը նախատեսված է Արցախի ականազերծման ծրագրի շրջանակում:
USAID-ի ղեկավարը այս տարվա ապրիլի 9-ին Արտաքին կապերի կոմիտեում հաստատել էր, որ Գործակալությունը որոշել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ավանդական սահմանների շրջանակում ավարտել ականների եւ չպայթած զինամթերքի ականազերծումը:
USAID-ի ղեկավար Մարկ Գրինին ուղղված նամակը ստորագրած սենատորներն են՝ Սենատում Դեմոկրատական կուսակցության ղեկավար Չարկ Շումերը, նախագահի թեկնածուներ Մայքլ Բենեթը, Քամալա Հարիսը, Քրիստեն Ջիլլի Բրանդը, Բեռնարդ Սանդերսը եւ Էլիզաբեթ Ուորենը, ինչպես նաեւ սենատորներ Թեմմի Բոլդուինը, Ռիչարդ Բլումենտալը, Շերոդ Բրաունը, Բեն Քարդինը, Ռոբերտ Քեյսին, Թեմի Դաքուորտը, Դայան Ֆայնսթայնը, Մեյզի Հիրոնոն, Էդ Մարկին, Ջեֆ Մերքլին, Քրիս Մերֆին, Ջեք Ռիդը, Ջին Շաինը, Քրիս Վա Հոլենը եւ Ռոն Ուայդենը:
Ավելի վաղ հաղորդվել էր, որ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը, տրվելով Ադրբեջանի ավտորիտար ռեժիմի ճնշմանը, թիրախավորել է Արցախում հումնաիտար օգնության ծրագիրը՝ փորձելով դադարեցնել HALO Trust ականազերծման ծրագրի ֆինանսավորումը, որն ամբողջ հանրապետությունում բազմաթիվ կյանքեր է փրկել:
ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատից դեմոկրատներ Բրեդ Շերմանը եւ Թիջեյ Կոքսը Կոնգրեսում արշավ են իրականացնում, որով կոչ են անում ԱՄՆ Միջազգային զարգացման գործակալության ղեկավար Մարկ Գրինին պահպանել Արցախում ականազերծման ծրագիրը:
«Նախագահ Թրամփը սխալ է գործում՝ խոնարհվելով Ադրբեջանի բռնապետ Իլհամ Ալիեւի անխոհեմ պահանջների առջեւ, որպեսզի ԱՄՆ-ն դադարեցնի Արցախին հումանիտար օգնություն ցուցաբերել», - նշել է ANCA-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Արամ Համբարյանը:
