Microsoft ընկերությունը խոստովանել է, որ Cortana օգնականի եւ Skype Translator հավելվածի միջոցով օգտատերերի ձայնային հաղորդագրությունները գաղտնալսել է: Հայտարարությունը կատարվել է այն բանից հետո, երբ Motherboard պորտալը հայտնաբերել է կորպորացիայի կողմից կապալառուների վարձելու փաստը՝ Skype-ի զանգերը գաղտնալսելու համար, հայտնում է «Կոմերսանտը»:

Motherboard-ի կողմից երկու ծառայությունների ձայնային հաղորդագրությունները, այդ թվում՝ Microsoft-ի աշխատակիցների անձնական հաղորդագրությունները լսող կապալառուներին գտնելուց հետո, ընկերությունը թարմացրել է գաղտնիության իր քաղաքականության դրույթները: Ըստ նոր դրույթների՝ Microsoft-ի աշխատակիցները կամ կապալառուները կարող են լսել Cortana-ի եւ Skype Translator-ի կատարած ձայնագրությունները:

«Հիմնվելով տրվող բազմաթիվ հարցերի վրա՝ մենք եկանք այն եզրակացության, որ ավելի լավ կլիներ նշել այն փաստը, որ աշխատակիցները երբեմն նայում են ստացվող կոնտենտը»,- պարբերականի հետ զրույցում գաղտնիության քաղաքականության մեջ դրույթների փոփոխությունը մեկնաբանել է Microsoft-ի մամուլի քարտուղարը:

Ավելի վաղ հայտնի էր դարձել, որ Facebook-ը նույնպես կապալառուների է վարձել օգտատերերի ձայնային հաղորդագրությունները վերծանելու համար: Ընկերությունից պարզաբանել էին, որ վարձու աշխատողները ստուգել են ձայնային հաղորդագրությունների վերծանման ստույգ լինելը, որը կատարել է արհեստական ինտելեկտը: Ընդ որում՝ օգտատերերին չեն իրազեկել այն մասին, որ նրանց հաղորդագրությունները տեսնում են այլ մարդիկ, քանի որ, ընկերության ներկայացուցիչների խոսքով, օգտատերերը դրան համաձայնվել են՝ Messenger հավելվածում հատուկ կարգավորում ընտրելով:
