Ստրկավաճառության զոհերի եւ դրա վերացման հիշատակման միջազգային օրը (International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition) ամեն տարի նշվում է օգոստոսի 23-ին: Այն ընդունվել է 1998 թվականին ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ի 150-րդ նստաշրջանում գործադիր խորհրդի առաջարկությամբ: ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ն ՄԱԿ-ի բոլոր անդամ երկրներին կոչ է անում մասնակցել հիշատակի միջոցառումներին:

Երրորդ հազարամյակի սկզբին ԱՄՆ Օհայո նահանգի իշխանությունները  ստրկության պատմության թանգարան բացեցին: Լիվերպուլում 2007թ. այս օրը բացվեց ստրկության միջազգային թանգարանը: Սենեգալի ափերի մոտ Գորի կղզում ամեն տարի այս օրը ստրկավաճառության զոհերի հիշատակին նվիրված միջոցառումներ են անցկացվում:
