Սեպտեմբերի 15-ը՝ Ժողովրդավարության միջազգային օր
SOCIETYԺողովրդավարության միջազգային օրը (International Day of Democracy) հիմնադրվել է 2007թ․՝ ՄԱԿ Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի կողմից, եւ ամենտարի նշվում է սեպտեմբերի 15-ին, գրում է Calend.ru-ն։
Այս ամսաթիվը նվիրված է նոր եւ վերականգնված ժողովրդավարությունների առաջին միջազգային համաժողովի 20-ամյակին, որը նշվել է 2008 թվականին։
ՄԱԿ-ը պետություններին, ինչպես նաեւ տարածաշրջանային, միջկառավարական եւ հասարակական կազմակերպություններին առաջարկել է ընդունել նոր տոն՝ որպես աշխարհում ժողովրդավարության վիճակին ուշադրություն դարձնելու առիթ։ Չէ՞ որ ժողովրդավարությունը ոչ միայն նպատակ է, այլեւ գործընթաց, եւ միայն միջազգային հասարակայնության, իշխանության պետական մարմինների, հասարակության եւ առանձին քաղաքացիների լիակատար մասնակցությամբ ու աջակցությամբ ժողովրդավարության գաղափարները կարելի է իրականացնել յուրաքանչյուր մարդու համար՝ աշխարհի բոլոր անկյուններում։
«Ժողովրդավարություն»՝ դեմոկրատիա, բառը ծագում է հին հունական երկու բառերից՝ «ժողովուրդ» եւ «իշխանություն», եւ ավանդաբար թարգմանվում է որպես «ժողովրդի իշխանություն»։ Այս եզրույթի տակ նկատի է առնվում քաղաքական ռեժիմ, որի հիմքում որոշումների կոլեկտիվ կայացման մեթոդն է՝ գործընթացի արդյունքի կամ էական փուլերի վրա մասնակիցների հավասար ազդեցությամբ։
Ժողովրդավարությունը հիմնված է ժողովրդի ազատ կամարտահայտման վրա եւ սերտորեն կապված է կարգուկանոնի ապահովման եւ իրավունքների ու մարդու հիմնական ազատությունների իրականացման հետ։ Չէ՞ որ ժողովրդավարությունը մարդկանց շահերի արտահայտությունն է։ Այն հիմնված է ներառականության, իրավահավասարության, հավասար մասնակցության վրա եւ խաղաղության ապահովման, կայուն զարգացման ու մարդու իրավունքների բազային տարրերից մեկն է
