Երեւանի կենդանաբանական այգու բնակիչներին տեսնելու համար ամեն տարի շուրջ 300 հազար այցելու է գալիս այստեղ: Այգում այսօր ներկայացված է ավելի քան 170 կենդանատեսակ՝ այդ թվում Կարմիր գրքում գրանցված: Դրանցից յուրաքանչյուրին անհրաժեշտ է առանձնահատուկ խնամք:

Առավոտյան աշխույժ անցուդարձն սկսում է այգու խոհանոցից: Ամեն կենդանի ունի իր համար մշակված առանձին սննդակարգը: Որոշ կենդանիների կերացանկում նաեւ տեղում պատրաստվող «աղանդեր» կա:

«Թռչունների համար, օրինակ, պատրաստում ենք շիլաներ, մանր եղջերավորների համար էլ միրգն ու բանջարեղենն ենք մանրացնում»,-ասում է Աստղիկ Մարտիրոսյանը:

Կենդանիների սնունդը պետք է լինի թարմ ու բարձրորակ: Մթերքը մատակարարում է մրցույթը հաղթած ընկերությունը:

«Ունենք մոտ 72 տեսակի սնունդ: Մթերքներն ունեն տեխբնութագրեր եւ ամեն անգամ ստուգում ենք համապատասխանությունը»,-ասում է այգու գլխավոր կենդանաբույծ Աննա Ասատուրյանը:

Կենդանիների կերակրումը փոքրիկ ցուցադրություն է, որին հետեւում են նաեւ այգու այցելուները:

Լավ սնունդն ու այն ճիշտ ընդունելը կենդանիների առողջության առաջին նախապայմանն է: Այգու կենդանաբույժ Հարություն Հովհաննիսյանն այգում շրջում է ամեն օր, հետաքրքրվում կենդանիների վարքով: Փոքր իսկ կասկածի դեպքում կենդանին տեղափոխվում է բուժզննման: Բուժարանը հագեցած է տարբեր միջամտությունների համար անհրաժեշտ բուժսարքավորումներով ու դեղորայքով: Պարտադիր ստուգումներից բացի, կենդանիները նաեւ պատվաստվում են: Մասնագետները նոր մեթոդներ ներդնելու ճանապարհներ են գտնում:

«Փորձում են վարժեցնել կենդանիներին, որ թաթը մեկնի եւ ներարկման համար, օրինակ, ավելորդ անգամ չթմրեցնենք կենդանուն»,-ասում է գլխավոր կենդանաբույժ Հարություն Հովհաննիսյանը:

Կեսօրից հետո կենդանիների հանգստի եւ խնամքի ժամն է: Այգու ամենատարեց բնակիչը 36-ամյա պոնին է, իսկ ամենափոքրը ծնվել է օրեր առաջ՝ Պավիան տեսակի կապիկների ընտանիքում:

«Մենք անակնկալ ունենք, հաջորդ տարի, հավանաբար, կբերենք նոր կենդանի, որն այգում ունենալը մեծ ձեռքբերում է ցանկացած երկրի համար»,-նշում է կենդանաբանական այգու Ռուբեն Խաչատրյանը:

78-ամյա այգին վերջին տարիներին անճանաչելիորեն փոխվեց, վանդակներին փոխարինեցին ազատավանդակները: Այգին տարածաշրջանում օրինակելի դարձավ: Սակայն անելիքները դեռ շատ են: Առաջնահերթը տարածքի ամբողջական ցանկապատումն է: Հաջորդ քայլով պետք է նոր ազատավանդակներ կառուցվեն եւ պայմաններ ստեղծվեն նոր կենդանիների համար:

«Հաջորդ տարի մեր այգին կդառնա եվրոպական կենդանաբանական այգիների ասոցիացիայի լիիրավ անդամ, եւ հնարավորություն կունենանք մասնագետներ վերապատրաստել եւ նոր կենդանանտեսակներ ձեռք բերել»,-ասում է Ռուբեն Խաչատրյանը:

Չնայած տարվա ընթացքում կենդանիների արտասովոր անկումներին եւ, կառավարման որակի վերաբերյալ եղած քննարկումներին՝ կենդանաբանական այգին շարունակում է իր աշխատանքը սովորական աշխատակարգով:

Կենդանաբանակայն այգին այժմ աշխատում է աշնանային ժամանակացույցով, ուղիղ ժամը 19:00-ին այգու դռները քաղաքացիների համար փակվում են: Մայրամուտից հետո այգին խորհրդավոր երանգ է ստանում:
