Հոկտեմբերի 3-ին ՀՀ ազգային անվտանգության ծառայության սահմանապահ զորքերում տեղի է ունեցել ԱՄՆ կառավարության կողմից ԱԱԾ ՍԶ-ին տրամադրված սահմանային անվտանգության ապահովման տեխնիկայի նվիրատվության հանդիսավոր արարողությունը: Միջոցառմանը ներկա են եղել ՀՀ ԱԱԾ տնօրենի տեղակալ, գեներալ-մայոր Արամ Հակոբյանը եւ ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Լին Թրեյսին:

ԱԱԾ ղեկավարության եւ իր անունից ողջունելով հյուրերին ու շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ԱՄՆ կառավարությանը տրամադրված օգնության համար՝ Ա. Հակոբյանն ընդգծել է ՀՀ եւ ԱՄՆ կառավարությունների միջեւ «Զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենքի տարածմանը հակազդելու բնագավառում համագործակցության մասին» համաձայնագրի կարեւորությունը՝ նշելով, որ դրա հիմնական առաքելությունն է հակազդել զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենքի, ինչպես նաեւ դրա հետ անմիջականորեն կապված տեխնոլոգիաների, նյութերի, գիտելիքների ու փորձի տարածմանը։

«Համաձայնագրի շրջանակներում ՀՀ ԱԱԾ ՍԶ-ին ԱՄՆ կառավարության կողմից անհատույց տրամադրված այս մեծածավալ տեխնիկական օժանդակությունը՝ սարքավորումների, պարագաների, նյութերի, տեխնոլոգիայի, մասնագիտական վերապատրաստման ու ծառայությունների տեսքով, հաստատապես նպաստելու է Հայաստանի եւ  սահմանակից պետությունների սահմանային անվտանգության ապահովմանը: Համոզված ենք, որ նյութատեխնիկական աջակցությունը կլինի շարունակական եւ կնպաստի Հայաստանի սահմանային անվտանգության ապահովման որակական չափանիշների բարձրացմանը», - ասել է Ա. Հակոբյանը։

ՀՀ ԱԱԾ սահմանապահ զորքերի հրամանատար, գնդապետ Վ. Սարգսյանը շեշտել է, որ երկու երկրների միջեւ հարաբերությունների պահպանման եւ ամրապնդման ուղղությամբ ԱՄՆ գործադրած ջանքերը մեծապես գնահատելի են, քանի որ Հայաստանի սահմանների պաշտպանությունն իրենց պատասխանատու աշխատանքի հիմնաքարն է։

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ ԱՄՆ դեսպան Լ. Թրեյսին իր ելույթում ասել է. «Հպարտ եմ, որ երկու երկրների ամուր բարեկամության շնորհիվ բարելավվել է հայ ժողովրդի անվտանգությունը եւ բարօրությունը: Արձագանքման արդյունավետ տարածաշրջանային կարողությունների ձեւավորման ուղղությամբ մեր՝ տարեցտարի զարգացող համագործակցությունը թույլ է տվել արձագանքել Հայաստանի եւ աշխարհի առաջ ծառացած մարտահրավերներին»:

Տրամադրված նյութատեխնիկական աջակցությունը ներառում է  շարժական լաբորատորիաներ, տեսադիտարկման օպտիկական միջոցներ, ազդանշանային սարքեր, կապի համակարգ, անգլերեն լեզվի ուսուցման տեխնիկապես գերհագեցած լսարան, քառագնացներ եւ այլ տեխնիկական միջոցներ: Դրանք անմիջականորեն նպաստելու են զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենքի եւ դրան հարակից նյութերի տարածման կանխմանը, միջազգային ահաբեկչության, մաքսանենգության, հանցավորության դեմ պայքարին եւ ապօրինի միգրացիոն հոսքերի կառավարմանը։
