Դուբլինի քաղաքային խորհուրդը պատրաստել է առաջարկություն գրող Ջեյմս Ջոյսի (1882-1941) եւ նրա կնոջ՝ Նորա Բեռնաքլի աճյունները Ցյուրիխից Իռլանդիայի մայրաքաղաք տեղափոխելու մասին։ Այս մասին տեղեկացրել է The Irish Times թերթը՝ ճշտելով, որ քաղաքապետի հավանությունից հետո միջնորդությունը կուղարկվի մշակույթի, արվեստի եւ գելյան շրջանների հարցերի նախարարություն, տեղեկացնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։

 

Առաջարկի նախաձեռնողները՝ խորհրդականներ Դերմոթ Լեսեյը եւ Փադի Մակքարթանը, հարցում կատարելով Ջոյսի կենսագիրներին, եկել են այն եզրահանգման, որ գրողը ցանկություն է հայտնել վերջին հանգրվանն ունենալ հայրենի քաղաքում։ Մտահղացումն այն է, գրում է պարբերականը, որ աճյունի վերամփոփումը զուգադիպի Ջոյսի կուլտային «Ուլիս» վեպի լույսընծայման հարյուրամյա հոբելյանին, որը նշվելու է 2022 թվականի փետրվարին։ «Նա Իռլանդիայի գլխավոր գրողն է։ Եվ Իռլանդիայի շահերից կբխեր նրա աճյունը հայրենի հող վերադարձնելը»,- ասել է Լեսեյը։

 

Ջոյսի աճյունը Դուբլինում տեղափոխելու գաղափարը նոր չէ եւ երկար տարիներ գրականագետների ու «Ուիլիսի» հեղինակի բազմաթիվ երկրպագուների շրջանում վեճերի պատճառ է եղել: Ի տարբերություն մյուս իռլանդացի մեծագույն գրող Ուիլյամ Բաթլեր Յեյթսի, որը ժամանակին էր «ընտրել» վայրը, որտեղ կցանկանար ննջել, եւ անգամ իր հուշարձանի համար տապանագիր էր գրել, Ջոյսն այս կապակցությամբ հստակ ցուցումներ չի թողել: Այս հանգամանքը «հետմահու նախապատվությունների» լայն մեկնաբանությունների տեղիք է տալիս: Այսպես՝ գրականության շատ փորձագետներ համոզված են, որ հայրենի Դուբլինի հանդեպ գրողի վերաբերմունքը հակասական էր՝ կարոտաբաղձային սիրո եւ քամահրանքի խառնուրդ:

 

Գրողը Իռլանդիան ընդմիշտ լքել է 20 տարեկանում, ապրել է Փարիզում, Հռոմում, Տրիեստում, Ցյուրիխում: «Ուիլիս» վեպը, որը Ջոյսը գրել է 2014-1921 թվականներին, համարվում է մոդեռնիստական գրականության գագաթնակետը: Այն համադրում է ահռելի քանակությամբ ոճաբանական հնարքներ, պատմական, մշակութային, փիլիսոփայական ենթատեքստեր: Դրանից բացի, «Ուիլիսը» Դուբլինով յուրատեսակ ուղեցույց է. վեպում քաղաքը նկարագրված է մանրակրկիտ ճշգրտությամբ: «Եթե հանկարծ Դուբլինը անհետանա հողագնդից, այն հնարավոր կլինի վերականգնել իմ ստեղծագործություններով»,- մի անգամ ասել է Ջոյսը:
