Հանրապետության նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը շնորհավորական ուղերձ է հղել Երեւանի օրվա առթիվ․

«Սիրելի՛ երեւանցիներ,

Սիրելի՛ հայրենակիցներ աշխարհի տարբեր կողմերում,

Երեւանի հարգելի՛ բարեկամներ ու հյուրեր,

Այսօր ամենայն հայոց մայրաքաղաքի տոնն է՝ Երեւանի օրը:

Մեզնից յուրաքանչյուրն ունի իր Երեւանը, որոնք միանում ու դառնում են մեկն ու միակը:

Երեւանը բոլորինս է, աշխարհի որ կետում էլ գտնվենք:

Երեւանի պատմամշակութային ժառանգությունը մեր արժեքների անբաժանելի մասն է: Այն պետք է պահպանել ու փոխանցել սերնդեսերունդ՝ որպես հպարտություն, որպես ազգային կենսունակության վկայություն, ոգեշնչման անփոխարինելի աղբյուր:

Երեւանը կարելի՛ է սիրել եւ պե՛տք է սիրել նաեւ նրա հանդեպ հոգատար ու սրտացավ լինելով:

Երեւանը միայն արտաքուստ է քարի քաղաք: Իրականում այն չափազանց նուրբ է ու զգայուն:

Երեւանը հիշողություն ունի:

Երեւանը լայնաժպիտ կանչում ու մեծահոգաբար ընդունում է բոլորիս:

Երեւանը ներողամիտ է, նույնիսկ նրա հանդեպ, ով նեղացած կամ տխուր է հեռացել՝ մեկ օր, մեկ ժամ, մեկ տարի կամ երեսուն տարի առաջ:

Երեւանն այսօր եւս մեկ էջ է ավելացնում շուրջ երեքհազարամյա իր պատմությանը: Այդ պատմությունը գրվում է ամեն մեկիս միջոցով՝ մեր աշխատանքի, մեր վերաբերմունքի, արարումի, խոհի միջոցով՝ հայրենիքում կամ նրա սահմաններից դուրս:

Սիրե՛նք Երեւանը, ամեն Աստծո օր մի միտք, մի երազանք, մի գաղափար հղանանք, դրանք գործ ու իրականություն դարձնենք՝ հանուն Երեւանի ու երեւանցու, հանուն Հայաստանի եւ համայն հայության:

Տոնդ շնորհավոր, Երեւա՛ն, իմ սե՛ր»:
