ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը որոշում է կայացրել Լիբանանի կառավարությանը անվտանգության կարիքների համար 105 մլն դոլար ծավալով օգնության ցուցաբերումը դադարեցնելու մասին: Այս մասին հայտնել է Reuters գործակալությունը՝ վկայակոչելով ամերիկացի 2 պաշտոնյայի, որոնք այս մասին տեղեկացրել են գաղտնիության պայմաններում: 

 

Գործակալության աղբյուրները հայտնել են, որ Պետքարտուղարությունն այս որոշման մասին իրազեկել է Կոնգրեսին՝ չնշելով այն ընդունելու պատճառները: Պաշտոնյաներից մեկն ասել է, որ այս քայլի պատճառ կարող են լինել Լիբանանում ընթացող բողոքի ցույցերը: Նշվում է, որ Լիբանանին ԱՄՆ ռազմական օգնությունը ներառում էր գիշերային տեսանելիության սարքերի եւ զենքի մատակարարումներ, որոնք օգտագործում են սահմանապահ ծառայությունները:

 

Reuters-ը պնդում է, որ այս տարվա մայիսից Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը խնդրում էր Լիբանանին ռազմական օգնությանը հավանություն տալ՝ այդ երկիրը կարեւոր գործընկեր համարելով Մերձավոր Արեւելքում: Ընդ որում՝ նաեւ նշվում էր, որ Վաշինգտոնը բազմիցս մտահոգություն է հայտնել Լիբանանի կառավարությունում «Հիզբոլլահ» շիական կուսակցության դերի աճով, որն ԱՄՆ-ում ճանաչվել է ահաբեկչական կազմակերպություն:

 

Լիբանանի վարչապետ Սաադ Հարիրին հոկտեմբերի 29-ին երկրի նախագահին ներկայացրել էր կոալիցիոն կառավարության ղեկավարի պաշտոնից հրաժարական: Վարչապետն այս որոշումն ընդունել էր 14 օր տեւած փողոցային զանգվածային ցույցերից հետո, որոնք կաթվածահարել էին երկրի տնտեսական կյանքը:

 

Ցուցարարները ցանկանում են հասնել կոալիցիոն կառավարության հրաժարականին, խորհրդարանը ցրելուն եւ արտահերթ ընտրությունների անցկացմանը:
