Նոյեմբերի 9-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունեց պաշտոնական այցով Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն ժամանած Սուրբ Աթոռի պետությունների հետ հարաբերությունների քարտուղար արք. Պոլ Ռիչարդ Գալագերին և նրա գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը: Այս մասին հայտնում են Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի Տեղեկատվական համակարգից:

Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին այցի առիթով Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսն իր բարեմաղթանքն ու գնահատանքը բերեց պատվիրակության անդամներին՝ անդրադառնալով Վատիկանի և Հայաստանի Հանարապետության միջև ձևավորված ջերմ կապերին ու գործակցությանը: Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսն ուրախությամբ արձանագրեց, որ իր գահակալության շրջանին Հայոց Եկեղեցու և Հռոմի Կաթոլիկ Եկեղեցու միջև հարաբերություններն առավել ջերմացել են ու զորացել: Այս կապակցությամբ Նորին Սրբությունը գոհունակությամբ անդրադարձավ Հռոմի Հովհաննես-Պողոս Բ և Ֆրանցիսկոս Սրբազան Քահանայապետերի այցելություններին Հայաստան:

Խոսելով Քույր Եկեղեցիների հետ հարաբերությունների և սերտ համագործակցության մասին` Վեհափառ Հայրապետը գոհունակությամբ ընդգծեց, որ ներկա ժամանակահատվածում եկեղեցիների առջև ծառացած մարտահրավերները կարելի է հաղթահարել միայն միասնական  ջանքերով և գործնական քայլերով: Այս առումով, Նորին Սրբությունը բարձր գնահատեց Մայր Աթոռի և Սուրբ Աթոռի միջև ամուր հոգևոր և մշակութային կապերի առկայությունը՝ նշելով, որ դրանք լավ հիմք են հետագա համագործակցությունն առավել արդյունավոր դարձնելու տեսանկյունից:  

 

Իր հերթին, արք. Պոլ Ռիչարդ Գալագերը ևս ուրախություն հայտնեց հանդիպման առիթով և անդրադարձավ Հայ Եկեղեցու հետ Հռոմի Կաթոլիկ Եկեղեցու եղբայրական հարաբերություններին` նշելով, որ այս այցը ևս մեկ քայլ է Հայաստանի և Վատիկանի միջև զարգացում ապրող երկկողմ  հարաբերությունների ուղղությամբ։  Սուրբ Աթոռի պետությունների հետ հարաբերությունների քարտուղարն Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսին փոխանցեց նաև Նորին Սրբություն Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս  Պապի ջերմ ողջույնները:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում  անդրադարձ կատարվեց  նաև Մերձավոր Արևելքում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձություններին, քրիստոնեական արժեքների և պատմամշակութային ժառանգության պահմանման ու այլ խնդիրներին: Կողմերը կարևորեցին Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի և Սուրբ Աթոռի միասնական ներդրումն աշխարհում խաղաղության պահպանման գործում:

 

Վերջում Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետն իր ջերմ ողջույնները փոխանցեց Հռոմի Սրբազան Քահանայապետ Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապին` մաղթելով, որ Աստված միշտ զորեղ պահի Կաթոլիկ Եկեղեցին, նրա սպասավորներին և հավատացյալներին:

Հանդիպմանը ներկա էին Արևմտյան Եվրոպայի Հայրապետական պատվիրակ և Վատիկանում Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի ներկայացուցիչ Գերաշնորհ Տեր Խաժակ արքեպիսկոպոս Պարսամյանը, Մայր Աթոռի Արտաքին հարաբերությունների և արարողակարգի բաժնի տնօրեն Գերաշնորհ Տ. Նաթան արքեպիսկոպոս Հովհաննիսյանը, Միջեկեղեցական հարաբերությունների բաժնի տնօրեն Հոգեշնորհ Տ. Շահե ծայրագույն վարդապետ Անանյանը և Սուրբ Աթոռում ՀՀ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Կարեն Նազարյանը:
