Իրաքի ներկայացուցիչների խորհուրդը (խորհրդարան) դեկտեմբերի 1-ին կհավաքվի արտահերթ նիստի՝ վարչապետ Ադել Աբդել Մահդիի հրաժարականի հարցով, հայտնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը՝ հղում կատարելով Al Hadath-ին։

Շաբաթ օրը կառավարության ղեկավարը երկրի օրենսդիր մարմնի ղեկավարին հրաժարականի պաշտոնական խնդրանք էր ներկայացրել։ 

Իրաքյան INA գործակալության տեղեկատվության համաձայն, դա տեղի է ունեցել նախարարների կաբինետի արտահերթ նիստից հետո։ Վարչապետը ընդգծել է «իշխանության խաղաղ փոխանցման կարեւորությունը» եւ «ժողովրդի շահերի ու ցուցարարների պահանջների բավարարումը»։ Բացի այդ, կառավարությունն ընդունել է վարչապետի գրասենյակի ղեկավար Աբու Ջիհադ Ալ Խաշիմիի եւ գլխավոր քրտուղար Համիդ Ալ Գազիի հրաժարականները։

Երկրի սահմանադրության համաձայն, վարչապետի հրաժարականը պետք է հավանության արժանանա պատգամավորների մեծ մասի կողմից։ Նրա հեռանալու դեպքում կառավարության անդամները 30 օր կշարունակեն կատարել իրենց պարտականությունները՝ մինչեւ նոր վարչապետի նշանակումը։

Ռազմավարական հետազոտությունների բաղդադյան կենտրօնի տնօրեն Մանաֆա Ալ Մուսաուիի կարծիքով՝ «Աբդել Մահդին ստիպված էր զիջել եւ հայտարարել իր պաշտոնից հեռանալու պատրաստակամության մասին երկրի ազդեցիկ կրոնական գործիչների ճնշման տակ, որոնք բազմիցս դիմել էին խորհրդարանի պատգամավորներին՝ կոչ անելով փոխել նախարարների կաբինետի ղեկավարին։ Մի շարք քաղաքական գործիչների կարծիքով՝ այդ քայլը «Աբդել Մահդին շատ ավելի շուտ պետք է աներ»։ Ցուցարարները կարծում են, որ միայն վարչապետի հրաժարականը բավարար չէ, պետք է ցրվի խորհրդարանը, հեռացվեն մարզպետները։

Հրաժարականը ներկայացվել է երկու ամիս անց այն բանից, երբ Իրաքում սկսվեցին բողոքի ցույցերը, որոնք ուղեկցվում են արյունալի բախումներով եւ անկարգություններով։ Այս ընթացքում զոհվել է ավելի քան 400 մարդ, զոհեր կան ինչպես ցուցարարների, այնպես էլ անվտանգության ուժերի շրջանում։ Տուժածների թիվն անցնում է 15 000-ից։ Հատկապես դաժան բախումներ են տեղի ունենում երկրի հարավում։
