Հնդկաստանի արհմիությունների խումբը չորեքշաբթի տեղական ժամանակով 06:00-ին համընդհանուր 24-ժամյա գործադուլ է հայտարարել, որին կարող է մասնակցել մինչեւ 250 մլն մարդ: The Economic Times պարբերականը զգուշացնում է, որ գործադուլն առանձնապես կառնչվի երկրի բանկային եւ տրանսպորտային ոլորտներին, կարող են խափանումներ առաջանալ բանկային ծառայություններ իրականացնելիս, բանկոմատների աշխատանքում, հասարակական տրանսպորտում, բեռնափոխադրումներ կազմակերպելիս:
Ակցիայի կազմակերպիչներն են 10 պրոֆմիությունների միավորումներ, որոնք կապված են ձախ կուսակցությունների եւ շարժումների, ինչպես նաեւ ընդդիմադիր կուսակցությունների հետ: Պրոֆմիությունների առաջնորդները պնդում են, որ կառավարությունը չի կարողացել ճգնաժամի պայմաններում լուծել տնտեսական խնդիրները, դեմ են, թե իշխանություններն ինչպես են անցկացնում պետական հատվածի ստորաբաժանումների սեփականաշնորհումը, եւ կառավարությանը մեղադրում են «ազգային շահերին վնաս հասցնելու» մեջ: Պրոֆմիությունները իշխանություններին նաեւ մեղադրում են այն բանի համար, որ գործում են աշխատավորների շահերի դեմ:
Կառավարությունն իր հերթին պրոֆմիություններին, որոնք հատկապես պետական հատվածի ձեռնարկությունների հետ են կապված, զգուշացրել է հետեւանքների մասին, եթե միանան գործադուլին: «Ցանկացած աշխատող, ցանկացած ձեւով համաձայնվելով գործադուլին, կբախվի հետեւանքների, որոնք, բացի աշխատավարձի պահումից, նաեւ կներառեն համապատասխան կարգապահական տույժեր»,- NDTV-ն մեջբերում է կատարել իշխանությունների հայտարարությունից:
